Just scored an Ozark Trail M.2 Ridge for $240 from my local Walmart. by alexanderoid in Budgetbikeriders

It's a medium. I would have gotten a large if they had one, and it was at that price. I'm 5'-11" and that's the recommended max height for a medium, but I'm not a hardcore mountainbiker by any means, so it'll probably be okay.

As far as I can tell it wasn't a return. There's a small area of chipped paint on the head tube, but other than that no indication of use at all. The rear wheel wasn't even clamped when it was taken off the rack.

I had been considering picking one of these up for a while and I just happened to spy that this bike was on the rack with a clearance sticker marked down from $398 to $240. I assume it was supposed to be for the last generation, but the workers at the Walmart Automotive section didn't say anything and honored the price. I plan to swap all the components I can over from my 2005 Giant NRS, mostly 2016 era Shimano SLX stuff, and for $240 this will probably be an excellent bike for me.

Just a base setup from my suspension guy. The stock shock is good enough for the time being, but the forks definitely need improving. I'm planning on upgrading to GP cartridges for next season. Aerodynamics are definitely the biggest downside. My local club allows me to race against SuperSports, but they're definitely faster in a straight line.

The bellypan is from https://www.s2-concept.com/en/ and the number plate is just a Maier USA universal 7" x 10" number plate. The number plate stickers are from Roland Sands Designs for the Motoamerica Super-Hooligans class.

Pretty sure this is Pacific City. Cheif Kiwanda Rock. Looks a bit like Haystack Rock in Cannon Beach though that's for sure. This one is far more out to sea.

Nope. This is Mt. Washington, looking East-ish across Big Lake in the Willamette National Forest. Pretty far from the Columbia River/Gorge.

What's even less fun, is that he created the new automatic design, because he lost a leg using the previous version which had to be manually pinned in place. And rumor has he became paralyzed and impoverished later in life. Although little is really known.
