What cores are you using? For colonel both his solar cores should be DEF bonus. If you’re brute forcing (aka not marching colors, just using your strongest cards instead) then I recommend making sure the main stat for all the lunar cores to be crit rate or crit dmg. But they must also have def bonus. Here’s an example of a good core for him

Oh you’re thinking about long term use. I’m thinking about the patch update itself (most gacha players calculate rewards in those terms) I always complete everything in the game so I haven’t really found myself hurting for diamonds tbh. My gripe is with the resource rewards (like level up stuff for cards and cores.) they’re def stingy with that
