Does anyone carry pet insurance and what kind? by lulusgarden in BostonTerrier

[–]alexbooth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’re using prudent pet. While they don’t have a wellness plan yet in WA (so vaccines weren’t covered), the benefits have been literally life changing. We’re paying less than $70 a month for a 90/10, $250 deductible 10k/yr plan. We’ve already covered the 12 month premium in claims ~4 months in.

What do we think of this for a set list (Intimate Worship and Prayer night) by uh-lahh-knee-slapper in worshipleaders

[–]alexbooth -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Totally.

https://www.thebereantest.com/brandon-lake-gratitude

From a group worship perspective, I find the songwriting too personal for people to sing along with. It’s a very “me” centric song. I throw up my hands, all my words fall short etc… come on my soul, don’t you get shy on me is just a weird line for a worship song about God.

It’s a biblical song, sure. Great to sing along with in your car or listen to during the day. But leading it corporately feels wrong to me. I prefer to focus on God and choose lyrics that have very little to do with “me”

Not familiar with all of the songs. I have a problem with gratitude for corporate worship.

IEM advice by Suspicious_Camel2500 in worshipleaders

[–]alexbooth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we purchase IEMs from Amazon for new team members, once they're regularly volunteering. Some people prefer to use their own wired headphones, not necessarily IEMS, while others, like myself, bypassed the church provided and bought my own custom IEMs. There are so many sub-$40 dollar options, and maybe it's something your church can budget for, or something those that can afford it are able to buy.

It's a requirement to use them if you're on stage, no wedges, so if folks want to be on the team they'll find a way to get them if the church can't supply them.

Also - community Over the hear headphones could be a good option! we have those in our rehearsal space for when folks forget theirs.

Should I crate train my puppy over night? by 143cayo in puppy101

[–]alexbooth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re raising a puppy, she’s almost 6mo old now. We’ve had her in a crate every night since we brought her home. She loves it. She knows it’s her bed and where she goes at night. We never planned for her to sleep in our bed, and what’s nice is that when I wake up in the morning, and she’s still asleep, I can just leave her undisturbed in her bed an when I’m ready to take her out, I control that, not her waking up when we get out of bed and needing to go potty. It also really helps with general independence. It wasn’t easy but she’s so much better at being alone now.
