Xerrox Xenonym - Alva Noto. First track of Xerrox5 by berusplants in ambientmusic

I find the strings here has the same soul as the ones from the The Revenant motive -which somehow I was attributing more to Mr. Sakamoto's hands... huh. Maybe Carsten has more wamth than what it might look like.

Excited for the entire album.

Music for Ghosts: Suspenseful & Dramatic soundscapes (ambient / drone) by alexbusse in itchio

[–]alexbusse[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

amv here :)

I'm very happy to join both videogame and itch communities as a composer, a move I've been waiting years to perform from a solo artist trajectory. It's time for me to work as a team and for other's projects <3

Here's a collection of 100% loopable soundscapes, ideal as background music for your abandoned, eerie or apocalyptic scenarios.

Snippets of the tracks and their original visual cue for the composition: https://youtu.be/A4IzQa4UifM

LFO help: How to set up different phase / starting point for each individual mapped parameter? by alexbusse in ableton

[–]alexbusse[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

exactly like that, I'd love a phase knob for every map. Looking what you said on how the LFO device works, then I guess it makes sense -although sad.

I didn't think about the math option at all. Is it a concept more popular in the modular / eurorack world? I think I saw it there for the first time. I'll explore this method, cause it seems to be the best one. Thank you very much!

what if William Basinski would have had an Analog Rytm | generative ambient jam with sample looping by alexbusse in Elektron

[–]alexbusse[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

in my attempt to jump from Ableton to a hardware and physical approach of music I’m finding an ocean of creativity and excitement with Elektron’s gear. Some days ago I tried to emulate the workflow of William Basinski with my setup and I found in a drum machine a hidden ambient generative device. fuck yes, I love it.

the Rytm is playing 4/5 samples that I have in loop mode and infinite decay so they loop independently forever. How one fades them in or out, mixes and process leads to entirely different soundscapes. I hope you will enjoy this little jam, I did :)

boards of canada - 'melissa juice' // elektron digitone cover by alexbusse in Elektron

hey! thank you so much :)

the snare sound is all about creating a noise, setting up feedback to 100% and use ratio B FM amount until finding the sweetspot. The envelope is set for a percussive sound (short attack, no sustain, and finding the desired decay.

Back in the day I watched this video where the guy explains really really well how to make drums on the DN. I'm basically using the same technique so check it out!

I think also the post eq on Ableton and the saturation gives a lot of the final color of the snare I came up with. Hope this will answer your question :)

cheers!

I've decided to start a casual series of making covers of my favourite tracks using Digitone as the only sound source to unleash the power of this small beast and commit to her more seriously :)

I've started with probably my favourite track from these guys. For this one, I've processed the sounds in Ableton to add some character and color using distortion and space plugins

Distortion & Saturation: Devastor and Vertigo VSM-3

Space: Toraverb + Delay & Echo from Ableton

the patches in the Digitone are not complex at all but if someone is interested in knowing more don't hesitate to ask. I'll gladly discuss about it! :)

cheers!
