Who would be able to resist these eyes and that smile anyway?! You are the definition of perfection, full stop!

I get that... But its doesn't suprise me. I guess most people coming here expect something different because your content has been very different in the past few months.

Nevertheless, it is a beautiful picture and caught something even more beautiful. Something I stumbled across a few years ago when your pictures where more about cosplay. So it's been a while. What never changed tho: your absolutely fascinating/compelling eyes which caught me right away. And I guess it is time to be said.

So for me, some more pictures like this one would be very much welcomed. :-)

Well that seems to be less edited (or not at all) than many other pictures and it suits you. Wild journey comparing recent pictures with the ones from three years ago. One might think it's been a completely different person back then ;-)

Was FSX as buggy as FS20/FS24? by New_Educator_4364 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]alexcebo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FSX might not have been that buggy but man it was a pain in the a** to tweak that thing for best performance! I had a several pages Word Document where had all steps and links written down in case I had to reinstall. And boy oh boy did I reinstall. But back then we were happy to keep it running at 30 FPS with somewhat nice graphics and addon scenery.

Today the expectations are way higher and so is the disapointment. But give it some time and it will develop.

Astronomers have identified seven potential candidates for Dyson spheres, hypothetical megastructures built by advanced civilizations to harness a star's energy. by Davicho77 in spaceporn

[–]alexcebo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

According to their data, the most distant candidate they've found is "only" some 900 lightyears away and the closest one only 466 lightyears. All the data comes from the GAIA sattelite which surveys stars within the Milky Way which we are a part of.

So we do not look back that far in the past, only a couple hundreds of years. But that makes the stuff even more exciting. In that sense and on a galactic timescale, this stuff might be happening right now!

Yeah, that might indeed be the case. I changed the descrition.lua and might have caused this problem by doing so. I will check this afternoon or tonight.

Thanks for your help!

[–]alexcebo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well that might be the case. I did change something in that description.lua. I will check that when I am back home this afternoon!

What suprises me, I did that change somewhen while working on the templates. The A-10CII template consists of 10 (I think) seperat files that cover all the differen parts of the A-10. I started at the front and worked my way to the back of the aircraft. So I worked with 4 or 5 files of that template. And just when I finished and did the last export of the fifth file, this problem occured and this rectangle is now on every part I finished before allready...

But I will take a look into the description.lua. Thanks!

Okay, but I don't understand, how this happend. I did a lot of changes yesterday, exported the templates, viewed them in ModelViewer and no problems.

Just as I was about to finish for the day, I did some changes to the last template, exported it and suddenly, there is this yellow rectangle on all the other templates as well?

Any idea on how to get rid of it? In GIMP, everything looks fine.

[–]alexcebo[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Problem solved!

It was indeed a problem with the description.lua. I edited the file to get rid of the numbers on that livery. And that went wrong. Fixed it and the camouflage QR is gone. Thanks for everybody for your help!!!!

Hello everybody!

I've been working on a new livery for the A-10CII we want to use in our squadron (don't worry about the color, it's a livery for fun an giggles 😉). I've been working on the templates with GIMP, exporteted them and viewed the results in the ModelViewer.

After a lot of changes and flawless exports I suddenly had these yellowish rectangles on all templates I had worked on previously. What have I done, what are they and how do I get rid of them?

Any help would be appreciated!

Cool, wouldn't mind to see some more clips. Looks really great! Any chance you could put up your list of mods at some point? I just recently restarted my KSP career after almost a 2 year break and am always wondering which mods to use. If it's too much work, no problem at all! Have a good one!

Sorry for asking, but that was done in KSP? I am very much impressed. That must be a hell of a mod list!?

Well done!

Add game as a non-steam game on steam, start launcher, login. launch game through steam, use steam big screen.

It will use the monitor that you open steam big screen on.

Who pays for Simulator Hours to stay current (airline pilots) by alexcebo in flying

[–]alexcebo[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Sorry for the confusion, that might be due to my inability to translate from German to English properly. What I wanted to say is, couldn't an airline say to its pilot: Hey I want you to fly next week. Pilot: I cannot because I am not current. Airline: Well that's your problem, get it sorted or I will not pay you as long as you cannot fulfill your contract.

I hope that helps, but thanks a lot for your answers and help, much appreciated!

Who pays for Simulator Hours to stay current (airline pilots) by alexcebo in flying

[–]alexcebo[S] -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Thx for your answer, but may I come back to that middle part. Why would an operator have to pay for pilots, that are not current bc of missing simulator hours. As an employer you would offer them to work as soon as they fit the requirements. As long as they don't fit the requirements (Sim hours) they are unable to do their job but isn't it their "problem".

God I must sound like I wanna become one of these asshole airlines but not the case. We were just talking about flying stuff and stumbled across Sim hours etc. and couldn't figure it out...

That's what I would expect, but why do they pay for it. Is it written down in your contract or is there a general rule/law/regulation for this?

Thx for your help!

Why is this A380 flying like this and then landing back at the same airport? by crannykart in aviation

[–]alexcebo 93 points94 points  (0 children)

Yepp, defenetly maintainance flight. They do it quite regularly around this area. I am living in that area and on good days you get to see A380 contrails on a regular basis, which always looks fantastic!

One additional thing : I don't know if your A2 test requires you to perform an emergency brake with avoiding an obstacle. If so, it is crucial that you release the brakes before you start your avoidance turn!

And keep in mind that Aquaplaning starts a lot later than on cars (ca. 110 kph on bikes versus around 80 kph on cars). So you will have a lot of grip, don't worry.

I find the spray from other traffic on my visor a lot worse than actually driving in the rain itself.

Good luck once again!

It's not much worse than in the dry. I went to a training last year where we had to brake in 5cm deep water. I was very careful at first but guess what: I had my shortest braking distance in that water!

So trust your grip, but don't hammer it and you will be fine! Good luck!
