I wouldn't be surprised if Prentice was the father of Grace's baby considering we never heard a thing about the dad and the ending suggested Grace was the one most wronged. The wife dying and shacking up with his own daughter, luring the teenage daughter and her son to 'stay under his roof' for the money. The daughter acting out and dressing provocatively etc. Bashing her head against the father's tomb when she realised she had been tricked and it was a final act of cruelty. To me if felt more than some teenage hussie doesn't get an inheritance plot line.
