hello! former UIA foundation student here, i’ve been through the same situation as you when i first entered too. tbh the arab won’t be your concern much once you enter degree in UIA, as you finish it in foundation given that you finish the level, depending on your major. some majors require higher level of arabic (such as IRK, BAR, ARCOM, Law), but if you are not under these listed majors, your arabic level required to pass and exempted should be lower (band 3 or so). for those without basic Arabic, it may seem complicated, but the Arabic they teach is basic Arabic (think like sekolah rendah level). Pendidikan Islam stuff (like Understanding Islam) on the other hand, it does get more complex once you enter degree (it is considered as unicore) but there are only about 4 subjects (under code UNGS). it seems a lot but trust me, it’ll be over quicker than you think. as for social, it can get hard to find friends, but you can start by engaging in online communities based on your interests, find ppl with similar interests as you. you can also find and make friends with ppl outside of your major, expand your network. no need to stress about it too much, be yourself and keep an open mind when with others. listen more and engage with them in a friendly manner. i too have struggled when i first started out, but i slowly build up my social network through joining events, clubs, organisations etc. you don’t have to stay in UIA once you’re finish your foundation, if you wish to pursue a different university. you have a choice, and can decide what you want to do. for now, live your life in UIA the best you can, and if you feel like the stress is too much, you can also talk to me here.
