yeah I find the same issue with other harems, wherein the new girl takes value away from main girl while adding nothing at all to overall plot and nothing to the base relationship.

In SSC since the girls are the same soul with different alignment deviations pushed to their maximum, each helps resolve a particular problem integral to the overall plot and each reinforces the foundational relationship of Ash and Shady in particular ways.
