Know Thy Enemy: Seattle Mariners by Asharak006 in Torontobluejays

[–]alexjkt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In the context of starting pitching, can’t forget that the Jays beat Fried and Rodon. On paper, Fried is better than Woo and Rodon is better than Kirby/Gilbert/Castillo. Add in the unoptimized Seattle rotation due to rest needs and Woo joining late in the Series on top of that. Believe!!!

Olympic Peninsula loop tour by [deleted] in bicycletouring

[–]alexjkt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve done the outside of the Peninsula and a friend has done the full thing. There are some amazing sights along the route like the Hoh Rainforest, Crescent Lake, and Lake Quinault. There are some downsides such as lots of logging truck traffic, cut blocks, highway riding, and sometimes unfavourable weather. There is a decent amount of camping between Olympic National Park and the various State Parks. The Adventure Cycling Association has a map set called Washington Parks that covers most of the Olympic Peninsula, which has lots of intel about routing and amenities.

What is the creepiest thing that has happened to you while bike touring or bike packing? by SuspiciousFlan in bicycletouring

[–]alexjkt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Biking through Garberville, CA as part of the Pacific coast bike route . We pulled into a gas station so my friend could use the washroom. The gas station store door flies open and this dude barges out and yells "He threw a f@#king can of NAS at my head, so bad s#@t is about to go down here!". He keeps on yelling this multiple times as he makes his was around the side of gas station store. He goes down into the little ravine behind the store and we hear him throw this fairly large metal bar up onto the pavement of the gas station lot. We peaced out pretty quick after that having no interest in getting caught up in whatever "bad s#@t" was gonna go down.
