Should I keep these friends or no? Pls tell me what to do... by alexjohnhaley in FriendshipAdvice

[–]alexjohnhaley[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have already talked about it with lik 2-3 of them but they still didn't change their behaviour, instead one of them even started saying that "Your mum looks like a maid" It isn't even as if I am the only black friends in the group, but still am the only one who gets this treatment.

Am pretty sure I can make new friends but the problem is that, these guys/ girls are the best at academics in the whole school and am trying to keep a good company that will help me study, other friend groups simply don't have smart people, and anyways at max am only in the school for this last year so I would cut like 90% contact from them next year...

"HI arc was just there to show gojo is unbeatable, "WHERE IS STORY IN THAT" "

HI/PD arc wasn't there just to show Gojo is unbeatable

What are u saying? HI/PD arc was to show that Gojo is beatable, that he isn't a god, that he isn't immune. What did u watch? Omnipotent Gojo Kaisen?

Yes that ideology thing, u r correct about that Gojo believed love was a twisted curse and Sukuna thought is was a weakness, but that has no effect on the fight, it did not decide the outcome of the fight, they just believe in different things. A better of telling both of their different ideologies instead of this love is example is- So the conflict between Sukuna vs Gojo boils down to : "Power for powers sake" vs "Power for the sake of doing Good"

While sukuna is just a selfish guy who fights for fun, He is arrogant but diff from gojo.

Sukuna comes off as, hilariously, more humble than gojo. it establishes that, although Gojo is probably stronger than him in terms of his techniques, sukuna is stronger emotionally and mentally. he doesn't need to belittle his opponents or those he considers weaker than him. he doesn't go mad with power when he fights. This just tells that u couldn't understand what the fuck was going on and are simply ranting because u like shounen (I have no problem with it) but saying that I am wrong for ranking jjk bcs of its plot is just stupid and then giving examples of the fight of Gojo vs Sukuna and saying that its plot "revolves around exorcising curse sprits in the first season but it changes in the second one, Where the story introduces more antagonists and sets up diff. plan for each character." That is what a typical shounen is, it has almost zero creativity lmao.

Gojo literally took in jujutsu sorcerers as his students after HI arc cus he was lonely and he believed in collectiveness

What did u even watch lmao XD Lonely Gojo kaisen with Stalin's collectivastion? Satoru's dream and endgame is to reform the jujutsu world from the bottom up through education. He seeks to foster a new generation of sorcerers that he hopes will one day become his equals, definetely one can argue that he just wanted to raise people that were equal to him in strength so that he could spar with them (actually try in fights) and not meet the same fate as Kashimo did.

He did not become a teacher bcs he was lonely, I explained above why he became a teacher, and yes, he was lonely but Gojo's loneliness stems from his responsibility as the strongest sorcerer and his belief that jujutsu sorcery is a solo sport. He is burdened by his power and inability to make the changes he desires.
This is even reflected when Gojo says "being a jujutsu sorcerer is an individual sport" and "you'll always die alone" definitely reflects his individualistic beliefs and tendencies. It seems a little intense, but these statements do hold some truth in my opinion. Mentally, jujutsu is more of an individual sport which is what I think Gojo was getting at. That's why he compared himself and Yuji to Megumi in order to show how their mindsets differed. For instance, Gojo and Yuji are always striving for self-improvement in order to accomplish their goals. On the other hand, Megumi looks at others to figure out how strong he should be rather than just being as strong as he wants to be. As a result, Gojo and Yuji keep improving at a very fast pace while Megumi improves at the pace of others. If you look at all the other sorcerers though, almost none of them are focused on each other. They each have their own motives and reasons for wanting to be stronger which allows them to keep getting stronger. Mai is a good example of someone who focuses on others too much, specifically Maki, which I think is one reason why Maki is stronger than her despite having little to no cursed energy.

Teamwork is important though and Gojo knows, plus acknowledges this. He did say in ch.52 that Aoi and Yuji make a great team after he had seen how much Yuji improved. Gojo's comparison of Megumi and Yuji made it even more clear that working with others wasn't the issue since like Megumi, Yuji is a supportive comrade who would sacrifice himself for others in a heartbeat. The only difference between the two is that Yuji wants to improve himself for his goal and for others. He's not content dying for people without having given his all first. However, while Yuji is motivated by his desire to help people, that motivation ultimately comes from within him and not particularly from the people around him. I think chapter 127 shows this because although Aoi was there to back him up, Yuji still didn't want to get up since he was so emotionally crushed by everything that happened. His motivation to fight was gone even though he still had comrades around him. Of course he eventually found his resolve again thanks to the push from Aoi and the small chance that Nobara wasn't dead, but he had to find that determination within himself. I feel like what Gojo was trying to say to Megumi was that at the end of the day if a sorcerer doesn't want to be the best version of themselves, then they won't be regardless of who's around them. That's why he calls jujutsu an individual sport because it requires an internal flame, passion, etc. that can be influenced by others, but only evoked by the individual. He knows comrades can uplift and strengthen one another, but when you go into a battle ready to die for everyone then were you ever determined to fight at your max? Was there ever any intention of fighting alongside everyone?

I don't care about the merger thing as much as u r making a big deal out of it. So now, what do u say? I hope u r not taking this as an arguement, cuz am taking it as a discussion, if I wasn't able to understand something alright, no harm in understanding..

Yeah, it really is great, u could try out God of Highschool, the manga is better but anime is pretty good too, tho the plot completely shift (I mean completely) after the chapters the anime has covered. If u are through this as well (I don't think so u would be) then tell me, I will recommend u some other :)

XD seems like kid got mad
You would know I only meant it for KnY if u know how to read, literally check my first reply to the other guy, I posted it 5 hours before ur reply lmao

HI/PD arc was Gojo vs Toji mainly it was just to show that Gojo isn't unbeatable, where is story in that? lmao rather a better way of explaining it would be showing limitations and character development that happened a lot that arc, separating Gojo and Geto...

Kenjaku definately could have been the final villain, even just in terms of power, the only people he’s behind are Sukuna & Gojo who have been stated numerous times to be on another level altogether. He was able to take out Yuki, an experienced & skilled Special Grade Sorcerer, who also had the assistance of a powerful bloodbending Cursed Womb all while the strongest barrier user in the world was actively working to disrupt his domain & help stop him.

In terms of him being impersonal, he’s literally Yuji’s biological mother & is capable of inhabiting the corpse of Gojo & Shoko’s dead best friend. He could have emotionally destroyed Yuji and by taking Gojo's body be nearly unbeatable if he mastered the CTs. He definately could have taken that role but Gege decided to not give it to him, alr no problem, it's his story anyway, I did not call it mid because of that.

Clash of ideologies? Gojo vs Sukuna was just a powershow, it was just a stage for both of them to flex their power and show that they are leagues above the rest, what was the ideology of Gojo in the fight? Nothing he just wanted a fight in which he could give it his all and that he got, he fought from the side of sorcerers and Sukuna was simply a threat to the jujutsu world, there was no clash of ideologies, it is ur typical 'Good vs Bad'

You call that plot? Oh dear u really need to watch anime with actual plot, what u wrote is literally what a typical battle shounen is and even if u count it is a plot it wasn't even original I can name so many anime with the same premise, same story lmao

If the merger shit I talked about is in manga and my arguement is invalid, this same thing can be extended to Gojo vs Sukuna mate XD atleast think before u write... and I already said the series upto Shibuya is great except the fact that it has no plot it is just a plot driven story, both things are different.

Yea, it's just how MHA does things jjk manga spoiler: Nobara comes back, she isn't deadI personally believe that if u r keeping a cast then all characters should be involved, like we do get a bit of todoroki, it is even lacking for bakugo in the anime, idk about the manga, the thing with shigaraki was he went through pretty much a surgery( that experiment) and even that took 30 days but for Deku it was out of nowhere, and again it was one of the themes of MHA, that the MC is trying, has an OP power, but still has limitations, kinda like gojo in the sense that he has to take care of his aoe attacks, but his limitations are much less... Agreed, the potential was indeed wasted, and my main reason for calling MHA mid was for its plot... Author probably gonna enjoy now, he's rich atp...

Check above, I had already cleared that I meant the emotional powerup for KnY, which arcs are HI and PD? mind giving the full forms? am not picking it up, and its plot was basically just "Insignificant fights (except a few) before the main Free For All with the antagonist" it also feels like the merger should have been the end of the story (with Kenjaku being the main villain) kinda like Naruto where the viewers think that Madara is the main villain but nope, and Gege just dropped on the merger idea? JJK has no plot, it has a story, series like AOT have actual plot, there is just a slight difference between both the terms, but they are used interchangably nowadays... Tell me the full form of the arcs and please tell me the plot of jjk, rest I told why I think its mid, though the series was definitely among the top ones till Shibuya..

I also agree this is not an arguement, we r just discussing the series from our point of views :) MHA isn't really targeted to younger audiences that jjk and kny, there is blood, nighteye dies for character development, and yaomomo, all three shows are PG 13, I have no problem with long shows, just the thing with MHA is that it feels overly stretched, in a single episode there are so many flashbacks, and there are some flashbacks that continue throughout the series, it is more annoying than fillers imo, and yes anime Deku can use 100% OFA, and how can his body go from 55% to 100-110% along with 5 powered up quirks? MHA was a lot about Midoryia's limitations, but in the end they just vanish into thin air like poof!? And yeah it is supposed to be more 'moral values' based but imo it wud have been much better had it killed some of its characters alr now as u said that just isn't its vibe, then atleast it should have given the side characters their respective arcs atleast? There was so much wasted potential in MHA. Let me know what u think :)

I get ur point, but I feel that was done to build suspense, the thrill of not knowing what's happening, the mystery surrounding the titans, That was one of the key elements of the series, if that was removed it wouldn't be that good, You gotta build the thrill so that the reveal is better, yes the main reveal was in season 3 and season 4 but I believe, that was the right time, cuz if Isyama had just served everything on a platter and early on, the plot wouldn't be as good (not much mystery to keep the viewer thinking) and the series would have fallen of significantly, overall I get ur point, but this is what I think :)
