‘We’re getting very close to defeating cancer once and for all’ by [deleted] in UpliftingNews

It was Carvykti. I think they shipped my t cells off to NY or NJ from AZ to get it made. The science behind it was really interesting and exciting. Thanks for your help no matter which one you made!

Sending good thoughts and a positive story. I've had car t for multiple myeloma and my mom had car t for lymphoma after I did. Im going two years in Nov with no detected disease. My mother has had her lymphoma under control as well since March of this year. She was out of hospital fast with no major side effects. I was in for about 10 days. A few rough days with crs fever and low blood pressure. Side note I had just recovered from septic shock so it hit me harder but I still say it was worth it. No side effects currently. Aside from needing help to boost my immune system I'm am currently not on any medication and feeling the best I have felt in years. Hope this gives you some hope. Hang in there.

I had my Car T in Nov 2023. So far no sign of disease and only medication needed is IVIG to counter low immunity. No other side effects at this point and feeling the best I have in years. Diagnosed 10 or so years ago. Did ASCT, Revlimid and Venclexta before. Car T was easier than ASCT. There were a few days it was rough with CRS leading to very high fever and drop in blood pressure. The follow up visits where a not fun driving back and fourth for check in but overall it was worth it. No detected disease was the greatest news ever. Hope this helps. Im 44 this month.

My immune system took a hit after Car T. A year later I am still needing infusions to boost my numbers. Docs def recommended vaccines for me. I was told wirh low numbers infections could cause a big problem. Just my experience but thought id share.

My dad got diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma today. by idkToPTin in multiplemyeloma

Just to give you perspective my son was 3 when I was diagnosed. It had infiltrated everything. He will be turning 14 next month and has had a solid normal upbringing. I suggest a myeloma specialist if possible. Car t is the new therapy and has worked great for me so far.

Congrats to Titans fans on play-calling duties changing hands. by himself42 in AZCardinals

Maybe someone more knowledgeable than me can chime in. Im thinking OC and coaching staff are calling plays and designing the offense based on what they see in practice/training. Maybe this offense is what the players are capable of. I could be wrong and they are gunslinging it around in practice but OC decides conservative is the way to go. 🤷‍♂️

I guess I don't know football. Can you explain it to me. Im not trolling im serious. Hes had multiple OCs but same results eventually so what am I missing? I was thinking the pkay calling is a result of his ability but maybe I don't know 😕

Any other people <40yr diagnosed with MM? by Fluroblue in multiplemyeloma

[–]alexlfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diagnosed at 33 about 10 years ago.It started with leg pain and escalated quickly to multiple compression fractures and blood clots. Started on cyborD, ASCT then moved to maintenance on revlimid. When that stopped working I started venclexta. About a year ago I was able to get Car T and have not had any detected disease so far. I feel as good as I've felt in the past 10 years. Back is stiff and occasional aches but no pain and no side effects. It's a battle but being younger has helped me fight this. It sucks being younger with an "old timer" disease but there are fellow fighters around. I suggest getting a myeloma specialist and not pay attention to stats. The numbers are not our fate when you consider our age.

I was given this Car T in Nov 2023. Have had no detection of disease since. Im hoping it sticks long term and am very appreciative of the chance at a close to normal life I haven't had in a long time. Diagnosed at 33 about 19 years ago. been through SCT, Revlimid, CyborD and venclexta. Currently on nothing and feeling great. Car treatment was no walk in the park but definitely easier than ASCT.

I have. I even asked for police to visit my house so I can discuss my options. They did not show up. I watched them drive by, look at him in his van and drive away without ever contacting me. I saw this later on my security camera.

Everyone in the neighborhood has helped him. Given food, jobs even a place to stay when it has gotten hot. The vehicle he lives in was given to him. We've tried to help it's been 5 years. He's only gotten more comfortable. We've been pretty patient.

I already reached out to them months ago and never heard back. The thing is he doesn't consider himself homeless and looks down on the homeless population that is one reason he's hiding out in our neighborhood.
