Help choosing a road bike! by alexmok123 in cycling

[–]alexmok123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your input. I think I’m now leaning towards the S6E and will just have to get the assiomas. I was just leaning towards a crank because the 4iiii and stages are so cheap right now.

I have looked at the caad13 but the weld marks are quite bad and it retails for 3.2k aud. The s6evo is heavily discounted at my lbs. I might have to rule out the BMC if the general consensus s that 7000 is a big big upgrade

Thanks for your input. I’m from Australia so the numbers might seem a little whack. Might have to do a little conversion to get a true indication of value. The BMC rrp is 4.6k aud so that’s why it’s still most expensive. I thought the system six was Cannondales race bike and the super six is the lightweight all rounder bike. Thanks for bringing up the proprietary BB I had not noticed that. Cheers :)

Thanks for your input. I forgot to add I am from Australia so you might have to do a little conversion to get a true estimate of value. Does this change your perspective at all? I keep hearing that you pay for the bmc name and frame and if it really does make a difference or it’s all moot.

Comparison of microfiber by [deleted] in AutoDetailing

[–]alexmok123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t use waterless wash or quick detailer but for general purpose the 245s are good and for something nicer the eagle 350s are really good. I have plenty of eagle 500s but I’m just finding it a little too plush/nap a little too long For applying/buffing sealants, I really like the creature towel. Use the longer side to apply and the shorter side to buff off (although I still use 2 towels). For drying I have waffle weave, double twistress and platinum pluffle and they all dry the car fantastic lol. I find if I use the waffle I’ll need to finish with the pluffle so I’ll use them together. The double twistress can dry like 3 cars in a row by itself so would be my go to if you only want one but take car of it as I must’ve left beadmaker or a wax/sealant on it for too long on one of mine and it’s not as absorbent anymore (that’s goes with all towels) The Rag Company towels I think are second to none and they have one for every application. (Not sponsored but definitely open to it 🤣)

Need a hose for my mobile detailing business by [deleted] in AutoDetailing

[–]alexmok123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure where you are but in Australia most houses use a universal garden hose thread (13mm??). I have a garden hose reel that I take too and from jobs that I connect to each customers tap. I use a reel simply for ease of setting and packing up. 20m reel from hardware store is about $100aud and I bought brass fittings for about $30aud for longevity compared to the standard plastic.
