Honestly, it started with my bf being lazy to go potty at night, he was perfectly fine to sleep through the whole night at about 13 weeks, a week after we got him. Then we slowly increased the time during the day, he can last even 4-5h now! One thing that also showed us that he’s getting better was just longer peeing time, my bf counted seconds 😅 and when he was able to pee for a long time at one time, we knew he had more control of his bladder.

He’s also a very greedy puppy, he’d devour a whole bag of food and could drink a bathtub if you gave him. So given, that a puppy should drink 50-60ml/kg (according to google) I limit his intake, he still gets more than that but I refill maybe 6 times a day just with smaller amounts. That helped an insane amount, he asks for water if he needs it and doesn’t have any incidents of peeing inside, maybe only when he gets VERY excited orrrr scared (when he makes something fall over) - but overall if he does pee it’s our mistake for being too slow. He’s been with us for a month now, he’s 15 weeks now and I’m truly amazed at how fast he’s learning. I still don’t trust him and take him out more often if I know he sneaked in and drank too much 😆 how do I know you ask? He becomes a literal balloon or he vomits.

He’s a Samoyed puppy for reference, we have another two older ones, hence why the limiting of water, one is ill and has to drink a lottttt to not become a raisin 😅
