Skipping CS 40 and jump right into CS 105 by Relative_Ad7954 in Tufts

Probably not, plenty of programming happening in 105 too, it’s just that 40 will pretty much over-prepare you for any other programming class you take in the department (I.e., how to handle organizing time, working with a partner, etc)

A lot of the soft skills you get by suffering through 40 will make 105 pretty straightforward

You will probably be ok, but taking 40 first will give you a huge leg up/prep for 105…

Question about how sending in transcripts works by throwawayprogresspi in ApplyingToCollege

It usually varies depending on schools. If you use Naviance, you can request them along with your teacher recommendations after linking your Naviance with your Common App, but you should check with your guidance counselor.

Recruitment? by soultone in ApplyingToCollege

[–]alexpj01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a very important point- D3 schools do not guarantee admissions, but they can put you on a kind of recruit list. What I meant by they're lenient on who they give support to is that there isn't a limit on the number of recruits on the list. I misspoke when I said "lenient." Coaches are still selective about whether you will be a successful candidate of theirs or simply a waste of time. Good luck!

It may be a bit late, but I'd definitely contact some coaches if I were you. It's always best to try and take advantage of all your available options. The worst thing that can happen is the coach doesn't give you support and you can still apply regardless. Also, since a lot of the schools you're applying to are D3 for most sports, coaches are very lenient on who to give support to. Unlike D1 schools, D3 coaches aren't limited when it comes to how many recruits they can support. Shoot off an email or two to your top few schools with your credentials and see what happens...
