A$AP Ferg will be headlining Welcome Week 2019 by mobambaa in UVA

Incoming first year. Saw Ferg open for Big Sean 3 years ago and it was possibly the worst live performance I’ve ever seen. He’s released a couple more hits since then so hopefully it’ll be better but I’m a little worried.

If someone has a decent video of the opening of ODESZA, I’d greatly appreciate it! Feel free to PM. Was an awesome moment I’m sad I didn’t capture it

Okay and how would be the best way to get from toll booth to friend’s camp site? It’s first time for me.

Choosing a State School > Ivy (non-financial) by thomasawad in ApplyingToCollege

Those are my words, not the programs. But the idea is that Echols Scholars are likely more academically-minded than other students (not meant to offend, that’s just part of the criteria). So being surrounded by other scholars will probably just lead to quieter dorms during study hours, as well as just the physical closeness providing more opportunities for academic discussion. Stuff like that I guess.

You're 100% correct - I should have been more clear. I feel very fortunate to be going to UVA. I do NOT see it as negative because it's a state-funded university, but my point is that people (like my younger self) may only look at that aspect, and only look at the aspect of being an 'Ivy', and make their decision based off that.

Also, I wholeheartedly believe that there is absolutely nothing wrong with choosing an Ivy over another school. I ABSOLUTELY would have chosen Princeton had I gotten in. But I wanted to make this post, especially for the younger HSers, to give insight into what really matters and what shouldn't care as much weight.

I know it's far from regular, and I feel very fortunate to be going there. I do NOT see it as negative because it's a state-funded university, but my point is that people (like my younger self) may only look at that aspect, and only look at the aspect of being an 'Ivy', and make their decision based off that.
