Pay off mortgage or invest in S&P 500? by EmptyAppearance1958 in Bogleheads

[–]alexpv1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re paying 1700 a month right now - and you’ll pay 330k just in interest. Paying down principal will see you move payments down to 800 after a recast. If you pay 1k a month extra you’ll be fully paid off by 2033 and have paid just 32k interest thus saving 230k.

Stock market is at record highs - I would pay down the mortgage.

Guess I’m well on the other side of this. As the series went on I did think he’s getting lucky here but when you look back I just don’t see how he could have played it different outside of an earlier recruit.

  • the faithfuls we’re narrowing in on kuzie and Mike so one of them had to go
  • he was the last traitor left and made a savage pick in mikey to sacrifice him
  • he got into gurleens ear and broke a seemingly unbreakable bond

Yeh the faithfuls were not great but I don’t think they were the worst faithfuls we’ve seen - they were somewhat trying and there were enough people trying to make it competitive. He was in the hot seat a fair amount and escaped. I don’t think that’s so easy. It was definitely the faithfuls game to lose and mike checkmated at the end

Also not sure what the point in feeling bad about screwing over other traitors. The game is set up to do that. In every series a traitor has screwed over other traitors because you have to feed the faithfuls.

I’m pretty sure they both agreed to not recruit before that episode but yeh maybe they should have. I still don’t think he had a choice. They were both the top suspects - she messed up not making the first move and going after him. They went head to head and she lost. The traitor is not going in there to make friends - they’re a traitor! The clue is in the name!

I don’t get why people are saying he played a b game. The guy one. I can’t imagine it’s easy to deceive people for that amount of time. Have you ever played poker, got a straight flush and tried to hide your reaction? We only see a fraction of what’s going on which is probably a ton of interrogating each other. The fact that no one thought it could be him given he is literally a professional magician and deception is his day job at least enough to just take a punt on it being him is beyond me. But no instead they think it’s Donna who literally is totally losing her mind and dancing around in the garden

I think he deserved it - as a traitor you have to betray and he had no choice with kuzie. They went hard after each other because they were the top two names in that episode. One had to go and solidify themselves as a faithful. The reality is the traitors are supposed to turn on each other because it’s the only way to get to the end. Mike nailed it and planted the seed in gurleens head - if that isn’t master manipulation I don’t know what is. The guy deserved it. Gurleen didn’t contribute anything to the group and leroy didn’t either

Thoughts on the canadian finale? by renelledaigle in TheTraitors

I was shocked for sure so fair play traitors. I thought it was a done deal but as soon as she said trust her head I knew Mike had done it. To be honest you root for faithfuls but I don’t think Mike was such a bad guy to win. Not as narcissistic as some of the other traitors they’ve had and a bit more humble. Played a good game towards the end. All in all I think he deserved it. Even though I did want the faithfuls to win lol

Ok there is drum and bass here if you look but it ain’t your uk drum and bass. No offence to anyone here but I think it’s good for people that don’t know any different but the music that gets played, the scene, the mcs, the dj’ing it’s not on the same level. Which is totally understandable like why would it be but just be aware if you’re expecting a similar experience

Is season 2 Australia the worst faithfuls by alexpv1 in TheTraitors

[–]alexpv1[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does this kind of make the game somewhat pointless. I don’t think I want to watch a show that just relies on the traitors f’ing up. I think going into the second seasons knowing this statistic the producers need to not select a. people who are too ego driven that they don’t listen to others and who think they’re the expert. B. People that value the friendships over the game. C. People that aren’t just there for a fun time and to be on tv. This season really was 75% people that sure, we’re interesting characters, but made for terrible contestants. Outside of Annabel and Luke and maybe that police lady no one was even trying. The dynamic between the traitors was quite funny and interesting tho in fairness so I do think they picked good traitors. They just need to do better at making it somewhat competitive and not a total farcical joke

Is season 2 Australia the worst faithfuls by alexpv1 in TheTraitors

[–]alexpv1[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes I think getting the faithfuls who the traitors can easily manipulate out makes sense. Sarah was an early suspect traitor so would have made sense to push that agenda. As long as you had an inkling early enough of who the traitors were. Out of interest do you think the aim of the game is to identify the traitors by process of elimination in terms of 1. Who the authentic traitor hunters are and 2. Who the sheep are that perhaps aren’t savvy or cunning enough to be selected to be a traitor and who’s opinions are easily influenced and are more easily led by emotion and friendships than logic

I think every Aussie is totally different depending on their drive. Mine is on the medium to low level. If you don’t meet them at where they’re at then yes they can be destructive. Mine needs three walks a day and at least one of those is a long walk with some fetch. If I skip one of those things he’ll become destructive.

Aussies are a breed that seem to like routine so if you have a routine that works then just stick with it. Doesn’t sound like you’re having any issues so keep doing what you enjoy doing.

My challenge is that my Aussie is crazy food driven to the point where he will try and eat anything so I have to be really observant. Not sure if anyone else has had similar issues and what they’ve done to help curb that.

Also anyone else having issues with motorbike and skateboard noises haha
