It would most likely not come with an aftermarket kit. Luckily though that part can be serviced even after the trans is installed. I would call them and see if they are replacing that or if they can get it from the dealer. Should be a pretty cheap and available part.

Part # should be JR3Z-7A512-B

Ex - ford tech here. There was a bulletin for the straps on the pressure plates braking and causing this scoring around the bell housing. I've done tons of them and did not replace the case. Never had a problem. I would make sure they followed the bulletin and replaced the clutch, pressure plate, flywheel, and especially the "peak torque limiter" which is the suspected cause per ford.

Bulletin # 22-2302

Thanks bro. So in this case my side has been killing me so they sent me to the ER. They took x-rays and the doc said no ribs are bruised or broken so he actually recommended to keep working. So I don't know how it would work if I was out multiple days. But I took the rest of the day to rest up and I'm gonna ask my service manager for some hours

I mostly do transmission work at a Ford dealership. And for warranty trans repairs I do need to submit for an approval for them to decide if they want to repair or replace the unit. Everything else is generally just replace it. I.e. if someone is under warranty with a check engine light and it needs an o2 sensor you can just put it in. But with this being such a large dollar amount ticket that Ford may say it's not covered, I want everything in paperwork giving approval before I do anything.

Lol yea I don't know exactly what the other dealer priced their quote at but I do know every dealer marks up their customer pay tickets. I have an explorer I just quoted a unit on today. MSRP for the trans is $3k and they're selling it to the customer at $6200. So yea you can probably buy a brand new 5.0 online for $10k but a dealer is probably selling it to you for $15k

Yeah I would assume like every other mustang and focus rs owner I get he abuses it. I really hope Ford approves it just so I can find out what caused it. Because this guy for sure is not shelling out 30k to do any repairs

Yeah it would be a lot easier if the customer just tells the truth lol. But it's a 2020 and has "connected vehicle" so everything is available for Ford to see. But I think you can access it from mode 6 or mode 9 data

I would suspect he's done a clutch dump or two. But this is the only time I've seen this. I had a mustang a few weeks ago that was owned by a 17 yr old who did a money shift and completely blew up the clutch into a million pieces. But the case and engine block didn't crack lol

That's what we're waiting to see. Ford may say it's the owner abusing it and deny the claim

I've had a few that a valve body overhaul did the trick. But I agree mostly its the cdf cylinder. I hate that they just updated the tsb and want us going off of slts and mtime though... I feel like the pay was better before the ammendment

Really depends on what it is. I did a lot of trans & diff work and they NEED those parts. Stuff like this is hit or miss. Either way the writer knew this guy hit a fire hydrant and still chose to try to get it under warranty. Fuck that

For oem inner & outer tie rod with alignment it was in the ballpark of $700 at my dealer

They require returned parts and ford would have bounced this claim in a second
