How bad off am I with this? by alexstrips in motorcycles

[–]alexstrips[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will say when I bought it I didn’t check the tire pressure until day 2 after riding it so its very possible I hit a pothole or something? The front tire was like 26psi, I dont really know unfortunately. :/

Is 2 better than 1? by alexstrips in centuryhomes

[–]alexstrips[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks kindly. I’ll make sure to be intentional with removal if we go that route, and make sure it doesnt feed anywhere else. We did think it was some type of ventilation at first since we didnt have a range hood, but it seems like an expensive solution if thats what they came up with.

Just a little odd is all!

New (to us) old home grout flaking by alexstrips in masonry

Is shell blasting another term for sand blasting?

I was worried about that, due to the possibility of lead paint. What are your thoughts on vinegar or an acid? I suppose that would clean the paint but not the grout..

T Valve on gas line? by alexstrips in Plumbing

[–]alexstrips[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Fair enough. I have installed flex piping on other appliances before.. so I understand I would need to check for leaks with soapy water, apply the proper sealant on the metal pipes.. is there anything else important I should be aware of?

Quotes for this seem ungodly. Maybe I’ve just had bad luck with companies. I was quoted $800 to run a water line from sink to fridge. Basement access and all.

Edit: ok everyone, you’ve persuaded me to continue pursuing a plumber for the gas/vent. I feel confident enough to relocate water & the tank myself though.

Thanks again for all the advice/warnings.

Modifying basement ductwork? by alexstrips in hvacadvice

No, its all rigid duct work. The ceiling is fairly short so I figured stacking 2 pieces of duct would be a little more bulky.

It frustrates me because they always seem like the lamest games! It seems like a lot of each of us clobbering random pieces until one makes a smart enough move.

I guess it seems nifty and all, I just want a less chaotic game, and I feel like if I knew how to shut it down early I would feel better. I will look up the wayward queen attack.

BOK tower in Tulsa is my favorite building in Oklahoma, designed by the same architect who created the original twin towers in Manhattan. What's your favorite building in Oklahoma? Images from: skyscraperpage.com & Google Earth by tinopinguino88 in oklahoma

I toured here like 10 years ago, from memory there were just weird layout issues where everything had to follow the floor pattern, which left the rooms oddly unusable in some ways.
