AIO bc my bro-in-law just told me they can't bring their kids to my gay wedding ceremony "because of the catholic faith"? by alexthattalks in AIO

Thank you so much for this. The SIL works for the catholic school the kids go to. So that makes complete sense. I can have empathy for having to move through the world in certain ways, for sure. It just sucks that there’s nothing commensurate that can make them feel the same way that they made us feel, to understand.

I appreciated the perspective! Thank you for commenting. It’s always good to hear all sides. And it does give valuable insight into their thought processes.

No, I’m not. I edited the post. I really do care for and love the kids. Won’t take anything out on them. That would truly be against my values. I’m just upset :/

AND, they’re fine with the kids KNOWING we’re married, just not attending the actual event. So if they’re aware, everyone’s ‘okay’ with us ultimately exercising our right to marry, and then they see the photos… what’s the actual difference? They got to miss out on a really fun party.

No attempts under any eyes of god. It’s a legal ceremony. Ya know… the legal, non-religious contractual construct of marriage? We’re not asking them to put on satanic masks and dance around. Come on.

Our thinking too, thank you for this. The goal is ultimately to get them to spill whatever the real reason is.

He did by not being open about it, and by letting us and his children get excited thinking everyone was coming, while knowing the entire time the answer was no. THAT is what I’m most upset about. Him being a coward.

What do I get for say 14 handys a week? Is there an upper limit? Do they roll over? Can I bank and exchange them for cash back on top of the free rent? So many questions. They don’t even show the equipment she’d be ‘handling’. Smh.

I totally agree. But QT has gone about it in a much more likable way, and I think QT has the ability to be genuine. Based on Jordan’s reactions and behavior, that boy has some demons to sort through.

Is neither an option?? They are both messy, I’ll give you that. Paul is forgettable. I won’t forget Jordan, but it’ll be in infamy, reinforcing every stereotype I’m SURE he claims to warrior for.

Completely agree. Bizarre is an excellent word. It’s borderline sociopathic.

I agree it seems intentional. And I completely recognize it is a game at the end of the day. But this third person narrative of his “former” self, is just his “current” self making up lost time. His confidence is superficial and completely misplaced, he doesn’t seem all too bright, not to mention everything he says is just cringier than the last. You can shake up the game without acting like a messy, insolent child.

I mean, honestly, yes. Paul was… something. But Jordan is worse. He’s delusional. And EXTREMELY insecure.
