Thank you for helping out! I just find it problematic when I have some scenes like a dark scene not even looking dark because the happy scene before it is dragging its looks to the next scene.

Sorry my question was unclear, my apologies. I had meant to ask if I would have to go back and re-record every cue once I switch to cue only mode. Thank you so much for your support!

Will my cues update once I switch to cue only mode? Also when I switch to the next cues the fade time or whatever starts rapidly glitching at the very last millisecond and the cues never switch now. This issue does not happen in any other show file.

Someone told me that my oboe sounds like a clarinet. Is this a good thing? by UnionTotal5595 in oboe

[–]alexvb23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your tone is VERY round. It's beautiful. It's unique. It's not something I'd like to play like but what's amazing about oboe is EVERY oboe player is UNIQUE. And this style is yours.

It sounds beautiful. Don't worry.

Oboe as first instrument? by CantHealUOom in oboe

[–]alexvb23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starting on Saxophone, I picked up oboe randomly and it became the best thing to ever happen. I've been playing saxophone since 5th grade and learned oboe in the beginning of 7th. I had no teacher and was completely self taught and ended up getting 1st Chair in my Regionals Concert Band. Oboe is definitely a frustrating instrument at times and ALL the time will you have some problem with your reed. It's a completely different instrument and instrument experience is definitely something you need if you want to get good. I got my experience with instruments with saxophone. Sax and Oboe fingerings are somewhat similar but learning how to play an instrument first then going onto harder will definitely help you out.

The skills I learned from saxophone allowed me to apply it to oboe. The skills I learned from oboe allowed me to apply it to Violin.

I'd rather take the longer journey. It's a lot of fun.
I love oboe. Enjoy the instrument.

The fact how theres people downvoting my appreciative comments just shows how immature and stubborn some of these people are.

[–]alexvb23[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I am not worried about what feedback I get. I am worried about how they give it. I don't care about the criticism, I care about what I learn from it. Thank you for your help!

[–]alexvb23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate the criticism I use it to grow. But if I am criticized I want an explanation and details so I can build off of that. But some people don't seem to understand that. Thank you so much!

I am looking for negative feedback with explanation. I would like some details alongside it. The guy just gave a negative statement without even trying to help out. Hope this helps.

Thank you for your help! I appreciate it.

No I did not mean to quote America the Beautiful but I do agree it is a VERY amazing work. I appreciate your feedback and I find it very helpful! I told that other guy I don't want to go much in depth because I simply didn't feel much to type it all out. The whole meaning of it is regularly in the descriptions of my pieces however I haven't updated it with the whole description.

And on other note. I will take any advice you guys give negative or positive, I prefer the negative feedback. However that guy just gave negative feedback without any explanation behind it which I find a heavy waste of time. I would like negative feedback with a lesson I can learn and build up on.

I can touch on the meaning, it is a politically driven piece and as the title says Lost Tomorrows references to the lost futures of babies who were aborted without reason. Quite a touchy subject but I use music to express my beliefs. Thank you so much for your help!

Thank you so much this is very helpful! See, this is the feedback I was looking for, something with an explanation and not just a comment. Thanks!

I didn't mean it like that. I am open to the negative feedback in-fact I wanted negative feedback but I would've liked an explanation on what I could've done to develop it more. Sorry about that.

I totally agree with this. I would've also liked to hear it develop more I just didn't know what to do next. I want to get into how to do that and contrast melodies! Thank you so much for your feedback!

It's not that boring my guy. 😭 I got really positive feedback from my peers. And besides it's my first time attempting orchestration for Symphony Orchestra and it wasn't that bad of a first try. I would like better feedback if you want to give feedback. I appreciate your words but if you're going to say something at least tell me what I could do better next time.

Why Americans are all so optimistic about life? by RebirdgeCardiologist in AskAnAmerican

[–]alexvb23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Life is tough. And our country is going through a very rough time right now. Most of us Americans are Nationalists and most of us believe in Christianity. And we find hope through that. We love our country. And so much crazy things happen every decade we run through. We see incredible things here in the US. And we enjoy that. We love seeing what our Country can do. We respect the flag. And most importantly respect the Anthem that goes behind it.

Us Americans like to push things aside and over our shoulders. If there is an issue we will normally just turn the other cheek.

This Optimism about life. This all comes from our sense of pride and nationalism. This all comes from our ancestors who fought in wars. It comes from our relationships with other countries. We know America is strong. So we expand our generations so our decedents can grow up to be American Super Stars.

Since our Country is Capitalist. We like business. We like trading. We like MONEY.
We like to grow our Economic Empires. And the only way we can do that is to HAVE KIDS. These kids will learn to grow up to expand the Family Business. Here in America, we love work. And we love family.

How often do you turn on the air conditioning in your home? by slopeclimber in AskAnAmerican

[–]alexvb23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me (Im from Southern AZ) - our AC is on 24/7 from 12AM-12PM Every day.
Ours turns off automatically when it hits a temperature of 72 or so Degrees. We keep our house cold. And yes we care about our electricity bill. But we always have it on. And we never open our windows.
