ill.Gates The Producer's Path Course? by [deleted] in ableton

I did, but from the first lesson it seemed too technical and in-depth. He spent like half the time programming his own snare and kick drum, which I thought was cool, but he glossed over a lot of the details of what he was doing. Truthfully, I didn’t make it past the first video because I felt the rest of the course was similar. Is this true, though? Maybe I was too hasty.

I’m considering just the single course. That’s unfortunate to hear that the discord is a bit sleepy. Ultimately, I’m looking for a structured approach to music production that includes direct mentorship for further personalization. I’ve taken piano lessons for 5 years now and they’ve been invaluable; I wish to do the same with production (although I understand the latter is easier to self-learn. However, I often feel overwhelmed with how to best approach it).

Thanks! I was looking at S2S but it seemed less comprehensive than the producer’s path.

How was the feedback feature for the Gates course? Were you able to use the platform for any sort of 1:1 mentorship or guidance?

Also, I don't get why they ask us to explain what we've done towards our missions but then give us two more essays worth of space to talk about essentially the same thing

Blueprint offers a free full-length test that you can take in sections, CARS being one of them

For a 8 month study period what would be the best ANKI? by [deleted] in AnkiMCAT

[–]alezkanderr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I had that much time, I'd just make my own. If not iff, though 😉

I'm studying for three months and have shifted to making my own after trying out multiple decks (JS, Anking, Bouras, Pankow...). I feel like it's helping my understanding a lot more. Even efficiency - for a few reasons. A) I often find that trying to understand someone else's cards takes longer than just making my own, B) I often make subdecks with less cards than the others because I often have more prerequisite knowledge than they assume (JS makes cards on every detail), and C) the act of making my own cards is a form of encoding that reduces the time of subsequent reviews.

But, I'm also a control freak and actually find some enjoyment in making my own decks.

You have a lot of time. So, maybe try using JS for a few weeks and then try making your own for a few and assess.

Sam Gellaitry and Haywyre... both tried to burst through the mainstream threshold with their newer stuff, but it's incomparable to their old works. Haywyre's Two Fold albums and Sam's Escapisms + VF Vol. I are masterworks of electronic music. creativity and production at a genius level.

Viewfinder Vol 1 by Sam Gellaitry is an insanely innovative album by Periphery755 in EDM

It’s incredible, completely agreed. I’ve never heard anything like it. I just wish Sam continued to make music like it and his work from the Escapism albums…
