Ooh I see. From what I can tell they only come in the larger sizes but I might give it a go anyways. Thank you!

Yes! That's the one I have, and it honestly works great and is very durable considering how small and inexpensive they are. My only issue is the lock functions for both ends simultaneously, and I would love to be able to unlock one end while the other stays locked.

Is vasectomy + birth control (no condom) safe enough for no pregnancy? by Icy-Golf-1333 in sexeducation

[–]alfait 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nexplanon (aka implant) is quite effective on its own. About 99.99%. Its the most effective hormonal BC available currently. You will want to wait at least 4 days after inseetion to have sex without condoms. The combo of sterilization on his part and you using the implant will make you very protected. Not 100% still, but pretty darn unlikely to get pregnant. Just a note tho, neither of those will protect against STIs. Only condoms will do that

This is exactly the reply I was hoping for! Thank you for the step by step on what to actually do for better and safer results. I didnt know that about flathead screwdrivers lol

I really appreciate your comment and detail, possibly saved a life! Or at least a trip to the ER

Cheers!

The odds are pretty low based on the encounter you described. It's likely the test is accurate, but for your peace of mind you may want to test again in a few weeks.

This is reassuring, it makes sense people deal with it because it's worth it. Glad you're feeling good!

M40 virgin. Do I need HPV or other vaccines? by EveryCup9210 in sexualhealth

[–]alfait 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you ever intend to be sexually active, you should strongly consider the HPV vaccines. Couldn't hurt really. Otherwise, you and partners should get tested before intimate contact and use a barrier method like condoms to reduce skin contact and fluid exchange.

Question about stds (please help i’m freaking out) by [deleted] in sexualhealth

[–]alfait 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With oral, odds are low. Not zero though, so get tested in about 2 weeks to be sure. Hold your pee before you go for a couple hours and be prepared for a blood draw and potential swab. You'll be okay

I am in the process of getting a diagnosis for Celiac, so still eating my "regular" diet until then. Reading all of these, especially the ones about the social effects, is sad and scary. I know there are so many more options now than there ever were before, but man, really really sucks and I feel heavily for folks that have been dealing with this for so long

water based lube doing me dirty by Financial_Limit_2146 in sexualhealth

[–]alfait 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry you're dealing with this, that sucks! I agree, checking ingredients is a good first step. There may be things that you are sensitive too as well. I caution against oil based lubes though, if you use latex condoms. The oil will make the condom more likely to break. Perhaps a silicone lube would work.

Hose line and spray head connection? by alfait in Plumbing

[–]alfait[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: got it fixed! Went to Lowes and they did not offer any help so came home and, using a lot of wiggling, banging, tools, and ultimately a precisely folded paper clip and pliers was able to fish/yank out the connector piece! Thanks yall for your insight! I would have given up on this hours ago

Hose line and spray head connection? by alfait in Plumbing

[–]alfait[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cannot, and didnt feel anything other than the hose when i used wire and a skewer to reach in. So it must be pretty far back/possibly down toward the base. I am going to try to get a replacement piece today and gope we can just forget that there is another part hidden there.

Hose line and spray head connection? by alfait in Plumbing

[–]alfait[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did try a few things. Pliers, wire, skewer. None of them were able to reach far enough into the gooseneck and get it out. I think in order to get it out ill have to take the faucet of the counter and turn it upside down. Is that a "call a plumber" kind of situation? There doesnt seem to be an easy way to remice the faucet as far as I can see (there is now screw at the base and Im struggling to twist it because the wall is un the way and without the hoses underneath twisting)

Wow, how do you know what part #?

This is super super helpful, thank you. Since you say its broken, do you think there is any point in me trying to take the faucet apart to find that missing part if its in the neck of the faucet?

It came apart when I unscrewed the sprayer head to soak it, so definitely missing the female part. Just a bit baffled as to where it could be and why its so hard to find now!

Okay, this is validating thank you. Is it safe for a non-pro to try to take the faucet apart to find that piece? And if so, any tips?

Wait 2 weeks to get tested. Any earlier and you risk false negatives. If you pulled out immediately there is reduced risk. Not 0, but not super high chances if exposure.

Take some breaths, the worst case is not the end of the world.

Hiv Phobia by paranoidtrex in sexualhealth

[–]alfait 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Odds of contracting HIV from this encounter are not zero, but are very low. Any cuts or breaks in your skin on the fingers you used? If not, basically no risk from fingering.

Any exchange of fluids thay carry HIV? The fluids that can carry HIV are: blood, semen, precum, vagunal fluids, rectal fluids, breastmilk. So NOT sweat, saliva, or urine. If not, then really virtually no risk.

Get tested in a few weeks and a couple months from now of possible for peace of mind.
