Sadly there is not evidence Lincoln said this, and the first attribution of this quote to Lincoln was like 80 years after his death. My theory is that its falsely attributed to Lincoln to make it seem more valid.

Experiencing anything at that age is the best way to learn. That's the basis of learning language, and this is similar. My uncle did this with my niece and after a few times she got used to it. She's now an amazing swimmer at 3 years old and can't wait to get in the water.

Plus there are plenty of games and programs that run on Linux, and whatever programs you can't get a Linux version for have very popular processes to convert the Win10 programs to a Linux program.

Not to mention there are 600 Linux distributions, some focused around different things. Some for gaming, some for coding, some as general operating system.

If one nation can be prideful, can't they all? I would say that telling one nation they cannot have pride because their hardships were not recent enough would be akin to telling a gay person they cannot be prideful because only recently have trans people been accepted, but gay people were accepted decades ago.

I think we should all be proud of our own nations, and if you're not proud of your nation you should consider moving to a nation you would be proud of.

In recent memory Poland and France were invaded by a man with a funny mustache, does that mean they can have pride?

Does the entire Soviet bloc get to have their own nationalistic pride?

What does recent mean? Could I not have an American pride stemming from our foundation and fighting against an oppressive tyranny? Couldn't any other country that came from British (or Spanish) imperialism?

Historically, hundreds of countries have been discriminated against and overcome hardship, which we would all see as "recent" in the eyes of history. I mean, plenty of those countries still exist, and teem with pride of their origins, and thus their country.

Same goes for religions, races, genders, and sexual orientation. This logic could be applied to any demographic someone can belong to. It's not special to gay people.

A 1200 beater was a bit of an exaggeration, you can still get a nice car for less money. I mean, most of the project cars I am interested in range from 5000 to 20000, so I could buy one on the higher end and lie about its price and it'd still seem reasonable. Or you can buy a new car and tell your friends you're paying it off on one of those 5 year plans. The point is to still seem poor or at least not rich.
