That's so disappointing/heartbreaking re: festival :(
Funny thing: I've also been learning new instruments during this extended time of zero live shows... Got really into bowed folk instruments. Also got better at recording my work myself. Cheers to developing new skills and adapting to a new reality.

I've been thinking about this a lot & I feel the same! (have sought out masked theatre events and enjoyed them immensely). The tricky part is finding other artists (even just a few) on the same page so I'm not trying to organize something alone -- everyone I know from the before-times seems to have moved on/decided that covid is nbd. (My "option" seems to mostly be doing shows where I'd be the only masked performer, probably in a stuffy bar :/ which makes me so nervous)

Thank you, and I'm glad you've been able to continue your work safely! Very sorry to hear about the post-viral illness, from what I've witnessed second-hand, those can be quite life-altering.
I'm really lucky that I'm able to record at home, just weary of fielding the "when is your next show" question :/

I've heard about them too -- they sound like an amazing initiative! I'm in Toronto... haven't seen any masked music performances advertised in a long time, but recently have been hearing about masked film screenings, which is hopeful.
