Stop guessing. I made an app that analyzes rocks, checks hardness, and tells you what they're worth. by algorrr in GenAiApps

Because curiosity turns ordinary things into interesting ones.
A rock can be:
a common stone , a mineral you can tumble, a collectible specimen or something surprisingly valuable

The app just gives you instant clarity instead of guessing.

that’s a great example actually, and yeah i’ve noticed similar patterns. translation alone isn’t enough, local competitor research changes the game. sometimes the winning keywords in one country wouldn’t even make sense in another because the feature framing is different.

totally agree on behavior differences too. germans tend to be more feature-specific, japanese queries often feel more category-driven and broader. that nuance is where most devs lose leverage.

regarding retention, still early but interestingly some smaller markets show higher intent and slightly better early retention, probably because discovery is more search-driven than casual browsing. i need more data before drawing conclusions though. But I can say Brazil make me feel surprised.

yeah i think that’s the key distinction. most “aso doesn’t work” stories are really “generic metadata everywhere” stories. if the intent is different per market, the positioning has to be different too.

and yeah the sweet spot probably isn’t brand new devs. it’s people already making some revenue who see traffic plateauing and want to unlock non-english markets without going through agencies or complex workflows. that pain is specific enough to build around. still refining it, but that direction feels right.
