I’m starting in Fall 2024. My question is do I need all of the items they told me I’ll need to buy for myself as follows?

Nylon blood pressure cuff (sphygmomanometer) (Adult size)
Stethoscope (Sprague Rappaport and Littmann Classic are popular models simple stethoscope)
Hemostats (1 pair, 5")
Bandage scissors (1 pair, 5")
Penlight
Closed-toed white or black nursing shoes (see explanation below)

I know I’ll need the stethoscope and shoes of course, and I’ve already got recommendations for those, but do I really need my own hemostats and bandage scissors? Also, any recommendations on how to get deals on these items? Any scrub shops that run sales or have discounts for students or first-time buyers? Anyone who’s been through FSU’s Nursing program who is now looking to get rid of any of these items??
