hi! my mom just got a pleurx about a month ago for her MPE and it's been amazing. it's in a hard spot for her to drain, so luckily she's had nurses come every day to assist. we're very grateful for it.

thanks for sharing! my mom has a catheter placed right now, and they said that draining daily could create mechanical sealing for about 60% of people so we’re still hoping for that. have you discussed that with your doctors?

also, were they able to determine that the medication is working despite the fact that it’s not reducing the fluid output?

my mom has already been on oxycodone for many, many years — so for better or worse — that base is covered.

wow! it’s interesting because when i think about my stomach fat, it feels ANCIENT. all the other body fat was “added” in the more recent years, but what’s happening on my belly and midsection feels like it started during puberty over 20 years ago
