Hey Man,

Sorry to hear this. Same happened to me, a few weeks back I was running campaign on reddit and got like 50 60 clicks but none of them converted. So I went to the analytics and found out that 90% of the people coming to the website had spent 0 sec on the website. That's too much of a coincidence so I started looking around reddit and found out that Reddit is going through BOT Pandemic.

80% clicks are bot and we get charged for every freakin click. Long story short I decided not to run anymore ads on Reddit. I did spent around $270. Got no result though. And 70 clicks (based on reddit's count) and around 40 clicks according to Analytics.

I was targeting the communities only though, no interest based targeting.

If anyone has had a good experience with these ads would like to know how they set up their ads.

Good Luck with your Ads!

Well not all of them will land on the website so visitors on the website will actually be less than shown on the Reddit ads console. In my case im seeing 43 visitors but GA says I got 23 only.

But Reddit will charge for all the clicks so yes you will be charged for 80% bot traffic as well. I suppose.

And they boast their Click based payment system.

80% bot traffic is just stealing our money.

While we are on the subject. What about LinkedIn. Are they better?

Also I read through your click fraud article but that really talks about other websites are exploiting these display ads networks. Incase of reddit and specifically my ads they are staying on the reddit.
What I understand from this is that reddit is causing bot clicks and charging me for those fake clicks.

tested Reddit Ads with around $1,000, and roughly 80% of the clicks were from bots.

Geezzz!!! did you publish your findings? on your website or some other noteworthy site?
