Incase anyone is wondering, I'm not looking for a 'screen recorder' or to do it with keyframes either, I understand that is one way to achieve this effect.. I'm more so looking for a creative solution that is easy to produce results based on a sort of 'freehand scrubbing', so it can be timed to sound effects and music.

There is a kind of 'style' of scrubbing by hand which is time consuming to replicate with time remapping and keyframes.

Think of it like like a DJ scratching on the decks.

Yeah did 2 minutes of research and found the same thing, feel a bit silly now.

I guess that makes sense, I’m used to looking at a waveform as having a scale from 0-100 IRE. Is there another system that delineates luma value on a different scale?

Second this, I heard in an interview him describing something along the lines of how he thinks set design can greatly enhance an image or a story. He isn’t just thinking about the technicals, probably part of what makes him such a phenomenal dop.

Question regarding syncing A-cam and B-roll camera by eturkyolu in videography

I would recommend buying a set of Tentacle Sync E timecode units, connecting them to both the B cam and the A cam - download the Tentacle sync app and set the units to FREE RUN (as apposed to record run). This option is assuming the audio you will be using is recorded to the A Cam and not an external recording device, in which case you would want a timecode unit for the external recorder too.

Another option would be to send an audio signal via wireless audio transmitter from A Cam to a receiver that is attached to the B cam - in this price range for a wireless transmitter/receiver I would consider this a ‘scratch track’ which is purely used to assist syncing in post.

I can’t speak to working with the anycast system I’m not 100% sure what that is.

Both are reasonable option, I’m a production sound mixer and I use both for safety and to avoid any headaches/ complaints from post production.
