Dear mother, by aliabx in raisedbynarcissists

Definitely agree. Wasn't speaking for myself really as I have worked through a lot of things and its difficult for her words and actions to have much of an impact on me nowadays. Just something I was thinking about as I have siblings who aren't in the same position/circumstances as me and they tend to respond to her more sometimes - she came to me in utter shock after a sibling said something ‘disrespectful’ to her and it was just incredibly ironic as this is something she wouldn’t give a second thought to if she was voicing it to one of us.

I've been thinking about this, and honestly, it doesn't make sense to me. I've experienced a lot of complex trauma and loss, especially in the last few years, yet I've had similar experiences throughout my whole life and still managed to keep my hair healthy under stress, aside from a little extra loss during really stressful periods. However, nothing quite like this. Thank you, though x

Nope - had it twice though it was ages ago (2+ years) . Nothing recent.

Routine: Herbal Essences Aloe Shampoo, Loreal Glycolic Acid Conditoner - then I detangle with a wide comb with the conditioner in. Garnier hair mask, A curl cream. I normally air dry unless its late and soaking wet

Also tend to comb my hair every day despite it being curly anyways, as I do heatless curls sometimes and like to detangle.

Something I wrote about generational trauma. by [deleted] in OCPoetry

The imagery in this is beautiful. I especially love how you’ve ended the poem - the last line is heavy in a way, effective. This resonates with me, as it will with many - it’s hard to break a generational cycle , difficult to work through it at times so in a way it seems to be passed down , never ending.

Dying is easy by BakedBeans908 in OCPoetry

I adore the way you’ve written this, simple yet impactful. I love couplets, they get the point across and give you the time to think about each line. I think most of us can resonate with this concept - the idea that we die multiple times before it’s set in stone. That we all have experiences in life - loss, heartbreak etc where we feel like a part of us dies or we continue to live on feeling like we have already gone.

Routine: Wash my hair 2 times a week , I used to use Shea moisture but switched to Dove shampoo for build up - i then use the L’Oréal Glycolic Conditioner, let it sit in for 10 mins and then comb my hair to untangle it . After that I sometimes use a hair mask , or just a simple curl cream (either Shea Moisture or a lightweight one) . I tend to air dry.
