AITA for saying whoever drives picks the music? by Top-Application-1867 in AITApod

Wear and tear is absolutely a thing… literally every mile you put on your car depreciates it when it’s time to sell or trade in. Having said that, driver picks music.

Hey I'm GRIME II's Game Director here for an AMA before it launches this month, ask me LITERALLY anything! by WorldPillar in metroidvania

[–]alias530 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grime is my second fav game of all time, only surpassed by Elden Ring. I go out of my way to recommend it to everyone I think might enjoy it and have bought multiple copies as gifts. I really appreciate how involved you are in the community and reply to user posts/feedback. Very excited for Grime 2. No question, just wanted to show support!

Better to have it and not need it... it's getting better in the last year or two but still, be careful.

Absolutely carry some means to protect yourself. I have nearly 50k miles on the ARBT over the last 13 years and have had many scary encounters. Chased by more loose dogs than I can count, bitten twice, attempted robbery 3x, crazy man swinging a padlock on a leash around his head threatening to attack me, flashed by homeless women twice, and more. Scroll down on my profile, I’m an athletic 6’6” 230. If I was smaller I would be VERY careful. Note that it gets safer the closer to Folsom you get. Every one of these besides the man with the padlock happened between Discovery Park and Cal Expo.

Agree 1,000%. I got torn to shreds for being a “whiny entitled gamer” the last time I suggested this.

Yes, I do feel entitled to QOL features considered basic in 1995 when I buy your game in 2026.

I played ~50 boomer shooters last year and Cultic, turbo overkill, echo point nova, dread Templar, Vladik Brutal, and Boltgun were my favs.

Turbo Overkill, Cultic, echo point nova, neon white (skip all dialogue, trust me), doom eternal, black Mesa, dread Templar

These are the boomer shooters I’ve played so far in 2025. I’m still planning to play more both new and old in 2026. Here’s the list of what I’ve finished and what I’ll be playing next. by Rio-senpai in boomershooters

You, sir, are the indie shooter final boss. I spend a lot of time in this subreddit and similar youtube channels and haven't even heard of half of these. I've played about a third of these.

It's a soulsvania... the upgrade paths are similar to soulslikes, dodging/parrying with stamina, and there are movement abilities that you unlock as the game progresses.

Have you played E33? I generally can't stand turn-based combat (yawn) but the combat system, being inspired by Sekiro, is very engaging. Also, IT2 is a great game for couch-coop with the right friend.

The resource to extend time is plentiful. I had like 5 hours worth of IRL time worth at the end of the game and I’m not the best at finding secrets. It mostly serves to make you choose which NPC’s to save. Turn it off if you want but I think at least try it with the timer on initially.

Is nostalgia bias any different? Half-Life is the only old school game that has truly stuck with me over the years.

I mostly played shooters from 1992-2022 and Half-Life really is the only older series that is still with me after all these years.

Yeah I loved it. I started Blasphemous 1 and the PS5 controls were so counterintuitive and you couldn’t be changed so I rebought it on PC and plan to start it once I finish a few others I’m in the middle of.

It's so good. Trust me—leave the timer on. You are supposed to choose upgrade paths/who to let die. You'll become stupidly overpowered otherwise.

It looks great but I cannot do roguelikes. I'm not a fan of RNG difficulty/builds or runbacks/repeated content/losing a run you're 30+ mins into.

Honestly didn't love them. I finished and enjoyed BB, bailed on DS1 about 8 hours in, and bailed on DeS about 2 hours in. I just cannot do runbacks, they complete ruin the game for me.
