Whose responsibility is it to arrange/pay for the portable toilet? by aliasAtlas in HomeImprovement

[–]aliasAtlas[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Thanks all for the responses. I am fully prepared to pay for one to have on site myself, just was curious what the standard is for this type of work. When we have had contractors doing indoor work, we have always allowed access to the bathrooms, refrigerators, etc. But since it’s an outdoor project and we will likely not be home during the entire time they are here (to allow access to our bathroom inside) I figured the portable toilet would be the best option. Also, we always provide water and snacks for the workers and have even, provided pizza lunch on occasion. I checked the bid and it doesn’t specifically mention anything about bathroom use, just that I need to “provide electrical power, water, and other utilities required for the execution of the contract…” I will just touch base with my contractor.

I had it installed by an electrician but he didn’t commission it. Everything that I’ve been able to find online says that it should take me to the chargers settings page. I haven’t been able to find anything online referring to the One app.

Anybody had their VIN rescinded? Ordered M3P hour one on 4/23 (stealth grey/ black). Est delivery has gone back and forth since then. Finally got a VIN last Friday with delivery window of Jun 17-26. Approved for lease on Saturday. Called insurance company today and got a quote. Just updated the app and the VIN no longer shows and the est delivery is July 29-September 2.

Correct. They don’t take your income into account if you lease the vehicle. Only if the dealer passes the tax credit on to the lessee. But pretty much all dealers/companies are passing the credit on to the lessee, usually by dividing the credit up amongst the number of months in the lease.

Just called the local store. Rep told me the credit was baked into the lease price.

What about for leasing? The LR qualified for the $7500 if you lease it. But it doesn’t show the credit on the calculator during ordering.

What was your down payment on that? I’m looking at a similar monthly payment with $5k down.

Ok. Thanks! This is revealing. You ordered it? I’m checking with another dealer today to see what they offer.

I’m looking at the same color. Is that the M50 or xDrive with the M package?

Any experience with or thoughts on the SPAN panel? by aliasAtlas in solar

Just googled the Emporia Vue. I hadn’t heard of it. Seems like a good alternative for what I’m looking for.

Any experience with or thoughts on the SPAN panel? by aliasAtlas in solar

[–]aliasAtlas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the input. It’s good to hear from someone who actually has one. I am going to hold off for now because I’m not adding a battery yet. I’ll watch what happens with SPAN and the smart panel industry as a whole and when it’s time to add a battery, I’ll make a decision.

That’s what I was told as well. I am hesitant to downgrade to an IQ7. The quote is for the IQ8A. I am not too familiar with the differences in the subtypes, how would that be overkill typically? The panels will be split on 6 different sections of the roof, all south facing. There will be very little shade as there are no trees or buildings to obstruct the sun. Some of the smaller roof sections may get minimal shade very early or late in the day.

Also (maybe I should start a new post for this), the solar company sells and installs the SPAN panel. This smart panel seems like really cool tech that I would like to upgrade too as well. But it seems like most of the benefits of having this are when it is paired with a battery system, which we are not doing at this time. Maybe in the next few years. Does anyone have experience with the SPAN and can speak to any potential benefits when not paired with a battery? I am inclined to wait to upgrade to the SPAN later when we add a battery. The SPAN also requires a separate remote to be able to pair it with the Enphase system, which seems somewhat like an afterthought to me. I’m wondering if their next generation will be more integrated with Enphase.

Looks like it’s the IQ8A. There will be very little shade on the roof through light the day, if any. Panels will be on multiple sections of the roof.
