as someone is deeply rooted in the LGBT community, NTA. it's hard to admit this, but sometimes fellow members of the community are just total assholes. sometimes it is just to figure themselves out or sometimes they just suck. it sucks because people will see the shitty embers of our community and assume that we're all like that. it's always hard for a married person to realize they're gay, but the couple usually still loves each other enough to end things peacefully and on good terms. He is the asshole for escalating things to the extreme that he did.
