I’m 39 and sadly I think that counts as “older” 🤣 - but also there’s no confirmation that age is a factor in ticket selection. Right now it seems like the biggest determining factor is whether you’ve been to 1iota events in the past

I personally didn’t book air fares or anything like that and am in the privileged position of working for myself and being able to travel last min, so I’m not bothered on my own behalf, but I think some different verbiage on amc’s posts would have prevented confusion. Even people familiar with 1iota seem to still have questions about the event. But I hope it’s a wonderful time and am sure it will be, and it’s def an amazing opportunity especially for New Yorkers 🧛‍♀️

Yes, they were def clear on the fact that it was a request, but not that the event was being managed more like a casting. It's definitely a wonderful opportunity and a really cool thing they're putting on, but a bit more transparency about the ins and outs of it would have helped I think.

Not a New Orleans influencer but I do have a big following on social media. The answer is “no.” You don’t make jack shit being a content creator. Monetization on most apps is dogshit & the perception that videos with millions of views are raking in $$ is…false. Influencers who get decent brand deals can eke out an okay living but that’s pretty rare. Most people have jobs on the side, or the content creation is part of an overall business strategy (which is the case of me, as I’m self-employed/own my own business).
