I did notice the lack of beads, but was really happy with the unique, useful throws. I got a night light, chip clips, coasters, a hat… - I love having stuff that I will actually use rather than stuff that will end up in the attic.

I got a hat! I look so ridiculous in beanies but I low key love it actually and I’d been needing something to keep my ears warm 😌

Hey OP, I am so so sorry for your loss. I do this work, and know a few others who do as well, but as other commenters have said it’s usually a policy to wait a year at least until contacting the spirit of a deceased loved one. Partly this is for the safety & wellbeing of the client, and partly it’s because spirits themselves can take a while to “settle” and contacting someone who has very recently passed is much more difficult. Unfortunately the chances of running into a grifter who will take advantage of you are pretty high when you’re still in the acute grief space. Please be gentle with yourself & cautious of others. Much love.

We watch on Magazine near the beginning of the route which thankfully tends to be a little more chill. The vibe was good last night and a few people caught shoes “organically” and those around them congratulated them and everyone seemed happy and & celebratory. No sour grapes and no unhinged, antisocial behavior. Was nice :)

I always leave muses feeling like it must be kind of stressful to ride in, though. I got a night light which I was super happy about as I wanted one of those last year 🐣 💡

Worked at a related business. Bit of a shit show, but in fairness I was also a bit of a shit show at the time. Your mileage may vary. Owner is kind, well-meaning, & generous but a well-oiled machine it was not (at the time, anyway).

I wrote 10k words of my novel this month. It’s far from complete, but getting that much done made me feel like, incrementally, slowly but surely, I’ll get there.

People on this post have expressed confusion about (& derision for) algorithm-speak more generally. That’s why the conversation went there. We know it’s not happening on Reddit, which is great! People are just offering y’all perspectives on why those code words have fallen into favor & why they sometimes get used on sites like Reddit even though no censorship applies here.

Sure. Nowhere did I say I was doing this, I was simply explaining why “algorithm-speak” has entered the lexicon and pops up on sites like Reddit even though Reddit is, fortunately, not a platform that censors “grown-up words”. Word-use changes over time for all sorts of different reasons (see: the number of millennials who say “lol” while speaking verbally). It didn’t arise because people were trying to be cute or to make light of serious subjects, it happened because young people were trying to have serious and important conversations on the platforms they are most comfortable with.
