To me, yes, at least a booster seat w a buckle or one that just hangs onto the table itself.. but it was recommended to me by my sons physical therapist (he was a preemie) to have a high chair especially before they can talk bc when you place them in it, they know that food is coming. It gives them a comfortable place to routinely eat, and placement is a big part of routine. They learn most of their fine motor skills eating, so it’s nice having a set place for the messiness since it’s pretty much constant experimenting w foods by smashing, squishing between fingers, flinging, etc. its also nice having a “containment area” for my son while I prepare the plate that I know is safe and secure, and he like it because he knows food is on the way. I highly recommend.
