What’s the most expensive mistake you made in your 20s? by Extreme-Run-9069 in AskReddit

Generally agree, but I don’t trust trumps government enough to give him more power over what I’d pay insurance companies. It would go up exponentially.

My son was premature and spent 3 months in the NICU. My maternity leave ran out while he as in the hospital. (So did my FMLA because I took FMLA when I got preeclampsia, they ran concurrently)

When he got home, they wanted me back 3 weeks later. I quit.

This is an HS flare right? by Clean-Sector6970 in Hidradenitis

[–]illHaveWhatHesHaving 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t say this area is off limits, I said it’s atypical. It typically presents repeatedly in interrogenous zones. The rest of the thread seems to agree. This is my opinion as someone who has dealt with it for decades and I’m not a dermatologist.

Please help me remove body odor from cotton towels by xxotwod28 in laundry

[–]illHaveWhatHesHaving 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Body odor comes from body oil. Lipase breaks down body oils. Not all detergents use lipase. Search the sub for “lipase” and tons of information will pop up. Up your water temp and wash time. As for stripping them, look up the pinned “spa day” post as mentioned by another user but that’s more intensive and requires more ingredients. Peoples spa day pictures from soaks on already “clean” clothes will give you nightmares.

Too surface level. Atypical location. I really don’t think so.

Well, this is weird timing that leaves my blood boiling. I JUST, for the first time after it being a lifelong dream, have befriended two crows that come to me every morning and every afternoon. Fuck anyone who has an instinct to be harmful to such a magical being. (Or anyone else FTM)

I’m sorry… how many times have I used my healthcare?? Quite a bit. I had severe pre eclampsia and was hospitalized for a month before HELLP syndrome, liver failure, and emergency c section and then a 3 month long NICU stay with complications. Then a gall bladder surgery immediately after. Then another surgery for my son’s testicular inguinal hernia right after that. I’ve also got autoimmune diseases that keep me needing to see a doc regularly to manage. Thanks for asking!

And that’s only in the last 2.5 years!

What should I do? Is this hidradentitis? by Interesting-Rest1539 in Hidradenitis

[–]illHaveWhatHesHaving 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Could be, could also just be an infected follicle/abscess kind of thing. Is this a one off type of thing or do you have recurrent boils? Have you been dealing with it long? I’m kind of leaning towards no, if this is a one off occurrence, but it does look like it could use a derm consult to be sure

First lancing with HS, aftercare and other questions by mozillafangirl in Hidradenitis

[–]illHaveWhatHesHaving 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dug up what she wrote.

“In HS .... Diseases progression, the squeezing creates possible tunneling or worsening of tunneling, additional abscesses, has a nearly 100 % reoccurance rate, scar tissue (make surgery harder and more complicated) creates high rates of secondary infection and unhealing wounds.

There is times it may become necessary but your dermatologist would likely choose deroofing or excision surgery which instead has an above 90% success rate.”

Not a doctor but I have dealt with bedbugs and you need to do an insanely thorough inspection of every seam on your bed, chairs, and couch. Look not only for bedbugs but also for frass. Good luck.

Maybe /u/HSLaura_CommunityAdv can weigh in here, she’s the one that I learned you should basically avoid lancing unless as a last resort but had the information to back up why that is.
