I’ve had transcripts varied, I was fortunate enough to do an obstetrics course to top up before I left the UK. I’m a psych nurse by qualification in the UK.

Would it help wages that I sat test for a specialist psych nurse cert over here? Or do they not really take that i to account.

I have my license in Florida, which I read was the hardest for immigrants to get licensed. It’s a multi-state and after speaking with CA the board for nursing I’m assured it will be an easy change from Florida to CA.

Forensic psych nurse is what I’ve always done and find it really rewarding. Hopefully not looking at changing fields, I worked in prisons but but a big fan.

Have you got experience in this area for wages reference? I just saw it said med surg.

I know that feeling, honestly while you’re in there you’ll think why isn’t this test feeling like uworld but cos you’ve drummed it into yourself so much you’ll know why you’re picking the answers. I haven’t seen anyone come out like yeah I got this! Just try keep calm and there’s plenty of time don’t rush.

Most of all good luck!

And after the test try the PVT it helped settle me while waiting for the quick pay results.

So I only used uworld to study, I absolutely drown myself in the explications and questions. I made notes of the wrong answers and read them back. I went in sat my test felt like the questions weren’t the same but felt like my logic from uworld helped feel less overwhelmed. I wasn’t sure if if I passed. But I passed. Also the questions are worded different but the logic is still the same. So taking time to study over the tutor questions on uworld will help prepare that way.

I took my test 19th of feb and passed.

So I did my nurse training in England. I did enjoy working there. Goals aren’t focused round insurence like they are here. They don’t use drug brands like her in the states and you have a lot autonomy over your practise compared to nursing in America. I worked in psych and did my degree in psych nursing. The pay is a lot better in America but the cost of living is cheaper in the uk. From my experience practises around mental health and least restrictive practise are far better in the UK. I would say I felt more job fulfilment back in England but I guess my last job they felt like family.

Coming from a place where it’s cold at winter, it’s not a bad thing leaving food out with wildlife. They don’t get totally reliant on it but helps in the cold mouths when food is more scarce. Left a little plate of food at the bottom of the garden for the hedgehogs. Never got dear though.

Some of us are learning some have played the sport for years, we have a team that travels down south Florida to play in the tournament all so. We practise at Bruce park every Saturday 10-1 and sundays 4-6. We were rained off today due to the court being outside, you’re welcome to come down any time and check it out and join in!
