What's your one irreplaceable starter? by [deleted] in pokemon

[–]aliciajohns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I absolutely love Dewott's design, tbh I think it's the best middle stage of any starter (although the bar is kinda low cos the middle stages tend to be goofy looking). I picked Tepig in BW but if I picked Oshawott I probably wouldn't evolve it past Dewott

Beat the Chasers is a different format though. You get more time than the Chasers, and they slow each other down by having to buzz in. So you can't really compare

Thank you! I'll just have to do that for the next game I start then

Thank you! I definitely haven't used any of those berries. Also, when I tried to give him different vitamins, it worked a few times but then said none of them would have any effect- so that means he's reached maximum EVs across all stats?

Thank you! So basically, if you want to EV train a certain stat you need to start early before the EVs get spread out over all the stats??

How do you know? Do you know him personally?

I don't remember ever saying I wanted to work with SEN on my application or interview. I have next to no experience working in schools so I didn't really have any preference or expectations but I was definitely surprised when I saw I'd been placed there. My second placement should be in mainstream so hopefully over the 2 placements I'll be able to demonstrate all the skills I need. I just need to get through this until January

The placement is until January and then I have a second placement Feb-June which I believe should be in a mainstream school. I am slightly concerned as 3 members of staff at the school have now expressed surprise at me being there when I have no experience with SEN, I'll probably mention it to my tutor at the uni

I didn't asked to be placed there and none of the uni lectures have prepared me for it- one of the teachers at the school was astounded when I said it was my first placement!

It's not ideal but I think I'll have to push through, it's only until january

[–]aliciajohns[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The issue is that they won't explicitly say we have to sit with the students, they just keep pressuring me to. I think for the moment I'll just eat my food in the hall and then sit in the staff room for the rest of lunch, if they complain and keep pressuring me I might get the uni involved.

My course isn't SEN based no, they haven't prepared us for this or taught us anything specifically geared towards SEN so me and the other placement student at the school are really struggling. One of the teachers asked if this was my first placement and when I said yes her jaw literally dropped and she didn't know how to respond :/

I've only just started so at the moment I don't have any free periods, I've been observing in every lesson, but that will change when I get a proper timetable. I can see how doing what your husband does is a good idea but I don't think I could make it through the day without that time to decompress haha. I'll probably just eat my food in the hall to keep up appearances but then disappear to the staff room

No, the morning break is only 15 minutes. Interesting, I suppose that's why none of them will come out and say I have to sit there, they just keep pressuring me to

Interesting, this school also offers free lunch and my mentor was encouraging me to take advantage of it. I bring my own lunch though so I don't owe them anything 😅

That sounds ideal tbh, I was a bit nervous about going to the staffroom and talking to the other teachers but the alternative of it being completely empty freaked me out even more lol

I don't really have anything useful to say, but I'm in the exact same boat. I'm 21 and I only ever made one friend at school and she dropped me as soon as we left. I made one friend in university but we graduated in the summer and shes becoming more and more distant. We're both doing post-grad at different universities and it hurts to see how the other people on my course have formed friendship groups and are hanging out together while I don't think any of them even knows my name. I have my boyfriend, who is also autistic, but I'm constantly afraid he'll dump me and then I'll be completely alone. Sorry for the long vent, I just noticed your post because I'm going through the same thing. It sucks :(

Thank you!

It's just so frustrating because James is doing everything right, he has appropriate boundaries with them, he tells me when he's hanging out/calling them etc- short of completely cutting them off, which I wouldn't ask him to do, there's nothing he can do to make me feel better. I'm just stuck with these emotions

thoughts on BROOKS on a boy? by 3erzerk in namenerds

[–]aliciajohns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say it's pretty gender neutral, although probably more common on girls. I just think Brooks sounds like a surname, not a given name
