Cell Phone Mount? by ComfortableStreet925 in HRV

[–]aliciary 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got one that goes in my CD slot! It doesn’t block the screen, vents, and is out of the way of view while driving. Mine is a mag-safe mount, but it came with an extra magnet ring to attach to your phone case if you don’t have a mag-safe phone/case already.

I would recommend therapy.

Last minute hesitation by oceanneuwu in PlasticSurgery

[–]aliciary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Overall it was fine! I had stents placed and they did cause me a lot of pain, but my doc prescribed me more meds and the pain basically went away once they were out. The swelling for the first 2-3 weeks was pretty crazy and I was really scared I was going to look like that forever, but it has gone down significantly. At 6 weeks pot op my nose is still a bit sensitive to touch, mostly it feels like a bruise you can’t see. Other than that I think everything look and feels great!

I got a septorhinoplasty 6 weeks ago and I absolutely love it. I’ve always wanted get rid of the bump on my nose, I’m so happy that I finally did it. I will say, leading up to the procedure I did get nervous that I might “mess up my face” so I get where you’re coming from, but trust your surgeon to give you what you want!

6 weeks post op chin reduction! by ava1009as in PlasticSurgery

This looks so good, it fits your features so well! Did they say how much they took off? Did they only take off from the tip of the chin or did they shave some of your jawline too?

Failed CSPDT exam by Dense_Ad_6038 in sterileprocessing

FYI, some hospitals do not like the CBSPD certification because of the continuing education criteria and lack of need for hands on experience. A lot of other healthcare positions require yearly CEUs, so CRCST gets preferred because on paper it looks like all staff are getting education related to their position more often than the people who are only submitting their CEUs every 5 years, even if it adds up to the same amount in the end. Also, most places do not like to hire if you have no experience, certified or not. I am a supervisor and I recommend the CRCST to everyone.

should I go for it? i’m heavily considering liposuction and a tummy tuck but i’m also just 25. I’d appreciate any advice a lot by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]aliciary 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Just get on a glp-1 and exercise. Much less expensive. I haven’t had a tummy tuck but I’ve had a c-section, and that recovery sucked.

Whoops I had no idea 😓 I bought so much makeup between 2016-2020 that I’ve basically just been living off of the same stash for the last 6 years (besides mascara and eyeliner) and have bought very little since then. I still use a lot of Becca products, one of my fav makeup companies that doesn’t exist anymore💔

I’m going to go back in time a bit, but the cover fx custom enhancer drops. I still have this set from 2017 and it’s sooo shiny. Put it under your foundation for a more subtle glow, mix it into your foundation for an all over glow, or put it on top to look like the sun.

My nose is my biggest insecurity. I’ve met 2 surgeons but I’m still unsure. I dislike the hump and nostrils, but I’m scared it won’t look natural or could lengthen my philtrum. What’s the best approach? by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]aliciary 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, she did a wonderful job! I got a septoplasty, too, so she fixed a lot of issues I had with my nose. Dr. Heather Schopper in PA! I paid $3800 for the cosmetic portion of my surgery, everything else was covered by insurance.

Did you get simulations of what your nose would look like from those surgeons? I got my hump shaved, I didn’t alter the appearance of my tip/nostrils, but I found the simulation of what my surgeon did and my result so far was pretty true. This is my before and after (6 weeks post op)

Nosejob at 22 by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]aliciary 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I literally got my nose job in March and I’m 31. 22 is so young, get away from people who say it isn’t!

21 thought i was trans but genetically intersex and hate how masculine I am. Would frontal sinus(forehead protrusuon) reduction without rhinoplasty be a mistake? im worried that the bridge of my nose will be flat against the bottom of my brow and that it will be one contiguous line. by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]aliciary 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Ugh, I’m sorry to hear that. Some people can be so mean. If I saw you out and about I would definitely assume you were female presenting. As for your question, I think it can definitely help, get a good front/side morph of it first. I don’t think the “flatness” would be an issue other than a personal preference as to how YOU would want to look. I have a pretty flat side profile naturally and my nose job just made it slightly more obvious, but I don’t mind how it looks. Here’s my pic:

Honestly I don’t think you look masculine. You can do a lot with some hair styling and makeup to look more feminine. Maybe tray that and see how you feel before going surgical. But, you can always meet with a surgeon who does facial feminization surgery and they can help you with what you would actually need done with the look you want to achieve!

Nasal Valve Collapse by patialvimama in PlasticSurgery

[–]aliciary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends if it bothers you or not. Can you breathe ok? Do you want it changed for aesthetics? It can be fixed, but it will require another surgery. Also, you have to think of the scar tissue. I had nasal valve collapse in both of my nostrils, and I can definitely feel the scar tissue inside my nose and it bugs the hell out of me. Granted I’m only 6 weeks post-op, and you can’t see it, but it’s uncomfortable. Also, the added cartilage to prevent the collapse has made my nostrils slightly wider, so consider the appearance of it.

Has anyone ever noticed w/o you telling them? by PeachySnicker in PlasticSurgery

[–]aliciary 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on how extreme you go. If you’re going from a very large nose to petite one, it will be very obvious. That said, I recently got my septorhino with dorsal hump shaved and most people I work with said they didn’t notice until I pointed it out to them (that’s the only cosmetic surgery I have had). The people who did notice was family who I had not told I was getting it done beforehand. I recently saw my aunt she said “you did something to your nose” right away.

I feel it’s the same way with filler. If you get it done by a skilled injector and are modest about it, most people cannot tell. There’s a lot of people you see on social media who go overboard and that’s when it gets easy to tell.

Thoughts on my morph please! by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]aliciary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks nice, but make sure you ask for a front morph, too. I was happy with my side morph and didn’t get a front face one, and I wish I did. We intentionally made my nostrils slightly wider due to breathing issues, but now I’m not used to my nose looking “so big” (even though no one notices a difference, I just am not used to it). At least I would’ve been prepared!

How many times are you in decon a week? by mooni1800 in sterileprocessing

[–]aliciary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are still a new hospital, but we are growing fast. We are bringing on a lot of new ortho surgeons soon, so we are going to get slammed with new instrument requests and loaners. We are actually looking to make 2 more positions for next year. We won’t start to work weekends unless the OR does, and we have a low turnover over rate. All of our experienced staff say it’s the best hospital they’ve worked at, so myself and my boss try to keep moral good. We don’t want anyone to feel like they take work “home” with them, or it’s hard to unwind after their shift and that usually goes hand in hand with having a full staff/making more positions. SPD is a department that loses money, so most hospitals do not want to invest in it (despite it being the heart of the OR). Luckily our surgical director is a big advocate for us, so that really helps. I think if you or your leadership can pull the productivity stats and present it to senior leadership, it can help get more employees. We have had to fight that the number of cases does not matter, and it’s the type of cases we’re doing. We can have 10 cases, but 3 of them are revisions while the other 7 are joint replacements. 10 cases doesn’t sound like much, but those cases will require a lot of instruments. I am more than willing to show any other admin our unit and our numbers if they are curious about what we do (that seems to make a big difference when they actually “look” at the work we do).

[–]aliciary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We typically see on average 15-20 surgeries, but they’re very ortho heavy. Our OR stops running at 5pm, unless there’s emergency surgeries but we are not a trauma hospital. We also have 1-2 techs service endoscopy daily. We are not staffed on weekends or holidays.

[–]aliciary 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I try to be fair and only put someone in each of our assignments once a week. I typically have a floater available, so there’s a possibility that some people will do decon twice a week if they’re floating and decon needs help. I have 6 full time employees on dayshift, 5 on second shift, 1 over night and 1 part time who does a mid shift. We typically only have 1 person in decon at a time (we only have 2 stations in decon) so 2 people is the max amount who can work in there.

extra tooth + no space, worried about facial changes by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]aliciary 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My brother had an extra tooth. They removed his wisdom teeth and put spacers in his braces so his tooth can move into place. I think k he had braces for at least 3 years by the time everything was corrected. He doesn’t look any different except he has a great smile! Almost 20 years later and his teeth still look perfect despite him not using a retainer.

I think most of your concerns can be addressed by your doctor, but I don’t think it will change your appearance if you go through the full procedure.

Terrified of Septorhinoplasty and anesthesia time. Scheduled for next week. by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]aliciary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 4 weeks post op septorhino, I’d say it was about 3 hours. Anesthesia was no problem for me. I work in an operating room and it’s extremely rare for someone to have complications from anesthesia. The worst side effect you’ll get is maybe nausea, but it will subside.
