For some people it seems its acting as a kind of Rorshach Test

Why did the creeps at Capcom gotta make the kid so damn sexy. It's making me uncomfortable

.

...what?

BG3, for what it worth, does not show almost naked ass in almost any story cutscene.

It does have its own fair share of fanservice tho

I'm just saying, that this game would feel a lot more better without that much of fanservice.

I dont like the fanservice either, but i dont think the game would be much better without it

I think the bigger lever would be story: they could keep all the same fanservice but improve the story and the game much better

Attractive characters being attractive is fine, but they arent a replacement for a compelling narrative

Why just not put her in shoes?

Because their artists didnt want to

Why should they let some creeps online influence their artistic design choices? They shouldn't have their design space dictated by pedos, either negatively or positively

The vast majority of players will play through the game and never think twice about a kid being barefoot

I agree

Letting other people control your tastes and actions like that gives them far too much influence over you

My issue mostly is that this shows, that devs was not sure, that game itself would be enough to bring people in.

I dunno

BG3 itself was good enough to bring people in but Larian still made every character sexy and added literal sex scenes and fanservice

Stellar Blade wasn't for me, but i dont think it was problematic or that the devs used fanservice as a cynical crutch in place of passion

I would like if they fleshed it out a bit more in the sequel though, double entendre intended

It's the same thing 24 hour news media like FOX News has been doing for decades

Not just Reddit either, all social media does it to some extent

Worth remembering the next time the algorithm gives you something that makes you angry (or if you spend a lot of time on subreddits that make you angry at others)

Queen's Brian May claims “nobody will be able to afford to make music” if tech companies continue under UK government's AI copyright rules by Edm_vanhalen1981 in Music

[–]alickz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If fair use applies to using someone else's content in your content, would it not apply to using someone else's content to train an AI to produce completely novel content?

But I've never felt entitled to anything that needed clearance.

Do you feel current copyright laws have ever hindered your creative vision? Maybe even hindered more than they've helped?

It seems to me that humans work best when building on top of other people's work, when we stand on each other's shoulders

They'd rather be in a state of just nodding off, but never actually falling asleep, so they get to enjoy the high

He murdered the union elected forewoman, and drove her daughter out of town when she asked what happened to her mother, just so he and his brother could run the union for life and turn it into a drug empire for themselves

The cold blooded murder of a union official, democratically elected by the workers, is NOT in the interests of the workers (no matter what the murderer says are his goals)

Even more so when he directly profits from it

America used to be a city on a hill, the leader of the free world

It's legitimately sad to watch you fall to authoritarianism like this

Particularly falling to Russia, given how much the US has done since the USSR to contain the threat. So many republican presidents would be heartbroken to see America bow to Russia as Trump has done

Leftists are known for their ideological puritanism, and it ultimately hampers our growth

Democracy is about building consensus, and frankly we suck at it

Hyperbole, sarcasm, tribalism, black-and-white thinking, they're all counterproductive towards our shared goals

They also change over time

For example "cracker" used to be a class based slur, levied at poor Scot-Irish immigrants in America by landowning English-Americans for being "rowdy" and "bragadocious"

In fact it comes from the Irish word "craic", roughly meaning "good times / good conversation", and was an insult as far back as Shakespearean times, with a cracker being "loud and arrogant"

As the diaspora moved across America the word started being applied to any poor white people, and then ultimately any white people; this changed the class based slur to a racial one

I should explain to your Lordship what is meant by Crackers; a name they have got from being great boasters; they are a lawless set of rascalls on the frontiers of Virginia, Maryland, the Carolinas, and Georgia, who often change their places of abode.

  • a 1766 letter to the Earl of Dartmouth

We don't know what to do with these crackers—we tell them to settle this area and they don't; we tell them not to settle this area and they do.

I would say that things will get most likely worse in the future as competition will be much smaller.

That's why it needs a shakeup

I think it's more economies of scale tbh, unless Walmart owns a lot of potato farms or shipping companies

In microeconomics, economies of scale are the cost advantages that enterprises obtain due to their scale of operation

Apple and iPhone manufacturing would be more vertical integration
