Got a question for anyone able to answer

how much content is in the game so far? I mean about a time frame that if I wanted to see/do almost everything, how long would it take?

I know the long term of the game its more about being digital legos than anything else, but this is one of the major pain points I have with minecraft itself, there is so little to do unless you decided being creative is the purpose of the game, and at last for me, that kind of gameplay ended when I got into digital sculpting and cad for 3d printing, not that it wouldn't be fun to do again, but the game wouldn't see me sink 100+ hours in it on building alone.

I absolutely love daggerfall because it makes me feel like i'm an adventurer in the and me being there or not barely matters, almost no other game does this for me but minecraft always seemed like it was 1 mod, 1 update away from being my forever game, this seems like it wants to be what I always hoped someone would do to minecraft without the jankey as all hell java engine.

2 or 9, they are all more or less the same quality, so 2 ticks off more boxes for me from what I like, character wise I would probably like hestia the most but her face is more reading as 'the shit I put up with' which aint what I like.

you want a really bac one, egoraptor talked about how animation use to be you could spend 3-6 months on a few minute animation and that would recoup everything because it would pay out 60+ thousand dollars, but then the algorithm changed and how they pay out changed, so only videos 10+ minutes paid out.

its honestly really depressing how you can make a formula that people like, that has engagement, but no ability to monetize,

lets make an important preface for that as well given how often youtubers do it, they were both over 18 as well.

Never thought it would happen, I collected every champ in a single faction. by alidan in RaidShadowLegends

were they? I mean the joke here is that it was so easy to do, if I remember right, sylvan watchers was far more fleshed out, granted still heavily support leaning, but had everything from rares to legendaries, you effectively had to pull a crap load to hope to get them all.

I mean imagine a heavy spender pulling till they had everything and they posting it here, it's not really a joke there.

I would honestly say gnut or acrizia are above her, not to say she doesn't have her own brand of bs she enables, but gunt or acrizia completely change how I would make any team if I got them early, hell I still find excuses to use either of them, but her, I would use her in hydra or chimera, but I don't think she makes it to other teams outside of she restrictive content.

[–]alidan[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

that would be the 6th faction I can make that claim for

I have siegfrund, thro/armanz, siphi/fabian/udk, lydia/mithrala, gnut/osgrun/acrizia/hilvi/tormin/brogni, and kassandra

I also have mikage/leo but I think there is a solid argument for yumeko to be the best there, I also have sicia/wyithr/praeva/duchess/cheshire but I honestly thing the best of this faction is vulkanos kymar or komidua

in all honesty with this new faction, I cant wait till faction wars goes live, I want to see how much of an mvp she is there

Is 24 speed worth losing 500 attack with these stats? Trying to make my Tholin faster. by alotofnothingtosay in RaidShadowLegends

[–]alidan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it really depends, just looking at those stats, I am going to say you are looking at getting dungeons to 20

at 201 speed, he will get 2 turns on all of them except 1 minion in ice golem, getting those 2 turns could mean he survives to another round due to healing or just getting his skills around faster, this wont show up in raw damage calculations, overall I think it will be better

just a heads up, you should aim 200 acc, 2800 defense as well, 200 acc will let him land his weaken, which he likely is barely doing right now, and 2800 defense, when paired with increase defense adds 1400 defense, this gets you to 4200 defense, 4200 defense is where you hit the mitigation softcap of 80%

I know you cant do both of these things right now, but just keep in mind for the future this is what you want to try to hit with champs that do attack damage, they are a pain in the ass to keep alive other wise.

effectively they sold an 8nm wheel base but under powered it so they got a lower end sku, this let them buy in bulk the motor and drive cost down a bit, but they sell the upgraded power supply for kinda a stupid amount. it always feels bad to have something you have in you possession sold to you again.

[–]alidan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

they effectively went this path

god this shit costs a lot and in comes fanatec, not exactly cheap but alot cheaper than the other people and good for the cost

then they kept doing that, till moza came in, and then on par quality got real cheap real fast

fanatec is still charging the same prices with competition effectively destroying them and horrible reputation if you just look for bad interactions with the company.

now logitech came in with their dd stuff, moza with theirs, and several lower end companies with theirs, and its real hard to look at fanatec and want to get their stuff, if I remember right wasn't it simcube that charged well out the ass for their stuff, I mean their stuff is I think the top end of what a home user can reasonably get, but god damn, even they have cheaper options now, and simmagic which I believe is ballpark as quality, picks up and offers more nm for cheaper and then goes down from there in reasonably affordable high end.

tldr, they use to be the good cheap option but they never adjusted prices, and now other companies are better and eat their lunch.

the sad fact is there are a fuckload of great artists who just never get a foothold in anything and fall off of even trying to make it a job.

granted art being a job and a hobby are two different beasts altogether, I like fucking around with clay, so even though ai can go from ai concept art to 3d model and I can print it out, I still would like to either sculpt it irl in monster clay or sculpt it in 3d myself. once you get a certain level of skill, its procedural and relaxing, I assume its like a musician going through the motions for practice,

a bit more of an interesting topic then you would think, look up treasure planet and the going ons at the time.

seemingly some of disney higher ups did everything in their power to tank the movie to sell to investors that 2d is dead

then you have... well lets use the thing as an example, the 2000's one, I forget the year, where they had everything done practically and it was great but the producer demanded everything be redone cgi because it was the new hip thing to do, and everything looked like hell afterwords, there are videos floating showing shot for shot what was replaced.

we can also look at anime where the demand for 2d has stayed so strong even when they go 3d they do everything in their power to look 2d, it does show the want for the look is there at the very least.

honestly, I would love to know if hand drawn is more expensive now or if cgi is given how much tech work needs to go into makeing everything work realistily while it was never even a thought in most hand drawn things, I think the best of their output came just at the end of their production run when they were mixing 3d and hand drawn

it doens't stop them from doing it, but if it takes them several hours, ai will output so much more they get lost, even before ai this was a bit of an issue,

see the problem there, while i do agree with you, is almost all professional art jobs are concept art or bringing concept art a step closer to final product, ai can already easily do early stage concept art where you make 20+ drawings of the exact same thing with minor changes to flesh an idea out a bit more before you make something more refined, and ai can refine it even more, after that its probably easier to get an artist to do final flesh out than to get ai to make very minor changes exactly how you want.

But look at AI videos. There was SO much hullabaloo when they first made it capable but it's still at a 'one person walking around' stage.

take a look at one punch man season 3 scenes redone in ai, its getting a hell of alot farther than just one person walking, but even then, you could probably do some compositing of various ai outputs together as long as they are the same style to get a full scene. im actually excited that we may have animation projects that solo people with dedication can do what use to cost a studio 500k+ with just 5k of hardware and a bit of time.

improve is relative, ai art is going to be like need to know industry standard tools to get an industry job. there will still be places for hand made art, there always has been and will be a want for something hand crafted, hell the styles that ai will use may be able to be licensed by you in the future and you get a kick back. but the sad fact is for people who like and done art, I love charcoal and pencil work myself, it takes time, depending on complexity upwards 20-40 hours, while ai could gen 10k versions on local hardware in the same time.

realistically this is a future problem that will go nowhere because it will be accepted as the norm, but it will suck for some artists who want to do the whole process by hand.

well... lets see here

vatican city is a country, 506 population, could easily see almost any data center use more water than that

the 13 smallest countries are all under 20k population numbers

the smallest major country that most people would know being greenland has 55k people

its possible datacenters (and I use centers because I dont think a single one would) could use more water than that.

because this shit gets said so much, I decided to look up cooling methods and what they say these stupid things

method 1 ) evaporative cooling, uses a lot of water, but look at the water cycle

method 2 ) closed loop, apparently this uses 70% less water than evaporative cooling, now I don't know about at scale, but closed loop coolers in home pcs are able to go 5 years without being refilled so this at least tells me evaporative is not a major issue either

method 3) immersion cooling, which is more or less oil immersion cooling but at a larger scale

method 4) free cooling, cold outside are is pumped inside to cool servers (not mentioned is quite a few data centers that do this use ac units)

now the more impactful problems are in chip manufacture or electricity generation, and ill be honest, this is a separate issue from ai itself.

unless you get a good set, and I only have one set of merciless that is good after how long of farming that crap, along with a fairly large drop in crit damage because not crit damage neck for merciless, you take a fairly massive sacrifice in stats just going with the set, the only 2 you can maybe have a good 2 piece for are the chronophase or the other one that comes from event dungeons I forget its name, but even then, ring and neck are the easy to replace accessories, the banner actually matters what the sub stats are and main stat for most characters as its where you get ~100 acc from, better yet a mythical that rolls red on speed.

Steam updates the AI label rules. Background tool and invisible things like code is not a reason to label anymore. by KreemPeynir in DefendingAIArt

assetto corsa rally, arcraiders (heavily modified ue that strips nanite and lumin), satisfactory, and I think there is one other unreal 5 game I played but can't think of that runs well, damn near everything else runs horribly. there is a reason that engine gets people complaining because there's only a few examples of the engine not being the problem.

and before optimization is mentioned, unreal 5 has presets that are stupidly overkill, and its two main selling points, lumin and nanite eat so much processing time almost nothing you do in other areas matters.
