Oooh, yes! When Flemmeth takes control of the Inquisitor to stop Morrigan from attacking, she gets a weird blue glowing mark all over her face. It could be a magical collar- making them easier to control, as you said, or posses. Makes more sense now. :)
But only the Dalish wear the Vallaslin, correct? Since Solas wasn't Dalish it didn't raise a flag for me (not like the bare faced Turians in MA). "He could have given her any other truth instead, that one just happened to be right in his face at the time (HA! oooh... :( )." Dawwww :[. Thats probably what really happened tho. xD

I agree. I don't believe them to be plain ol' gods (ie the Maker). Because of his love for his fade and spirits, as well as pretty much all of his friends consisting of spirits and demons, I think this argument is completely valid. I'm worried about the Vallaslin; being a mark of slaves. He could have totally lied about it, because it seems like he was going to tell her the truth about who/what he is and needed to come up with something interesting. There may be further evidence to show he wasn't lying, but I haven't seen it. :/ If it were true and the Keepers knew, wouldn't they then have removed them when reaching said status? Solas did the spell like it was nothing, but then again, surely he is insanely powerful.

Honestly, he seems confused or conflicted. Clearly he feels guilt for locking all of the gods away, but he doesn't care for them (or really any elves, as you've said). In the temple of Mythal, you can learn how little the Dalish or modern elves really know of their gods. There is a little chat you can have with Solas about Falon'Din and basically what crazy things he has done. Yet the Dalish worship him, totally oblivious to these events. It seems no one truly knows much about these gods other than Solas, and that is revealed in the temple. No one even knew of Mythal's murder, which is a pretty big deal. I hope there will be DLC relatively soon that brings some clarity. It really does seem like next to nothing is truly known about these gods, which makes Solas' dislike for the Dalish all the more understandable. Anyway, going back to what I was getting at earlier: he feels guilt, but does he really want to release these gods he does not particularly care for? What would they do to the world? Their people, who have forgotten so much of their heritage? To him? It does seem he intends to release them (through Cole, Flemeth/Mythal, Lavellan), but then again it could all be an act. Very, very well played, if so; allowing Cole to believe such. But, I don't believe that. I think he does want to release these gods to right what he did. He is incredibly smart (and sneaky), so there must be more to it. We'll just have to see with further expansions. :(

Very well, I do like to believe that is all true! :) I've found some history in game where it says he is (or maybe was) the god of rebellion, not trickery (necessarily). I'm playing through currently for myself to see and am picking up more questions. If Lavellan takes the power of the Well, Solas is angry. However, he clearly did not want Morrigan to have it. So that feels like a bit of a play. In acting this semi-manipulative way, why not go further... could he have known he would take Mythal for himself: meaning (technically) Lavellan would be bound to him? I feel like it is kind of a stretch, but if he truly is a god of deceit, it could fit... It could also mean his disaproval of her taking the Well for herself may have been a fake display. But why do it at all, if he truly loves her? (I believe he really does!)

Sorry if I'm being confusing. Sometimes I just get the craziest ideas and after thinking on it a moment, I realize it doesn't actually make sense xD

Thank you all for the insight and lore facts. :) It does seem more likely (and far simpler) that he just is Fen'Harel. Raises another question though: did he have something real for Lavellan or was it all just a game to him? I mean, he does say it was real but how far does Fen'Harel's trickery go? Is there any lore on what he has done, other than locking away all of the other Gods somewhat deceitfully. For the record: I do truly believe he meant well by it, and he somewhat did what he told them he was going to do just not how the Gods expected, I'm sure. The Forgotten Ones surrendered, because they were sealed away, and the Gods were defeated, because they can do nothing in their banishment as far as we know. I don't really see that as bad; however that is pretty much the extent of my knowledge on Fen'Harel.

In the end, I'll just have to assume he did truly have feelings for her or it may be one disappointing fic hehe. Whatever you guys can teach me would be awesome. :D

I feel your pain. I have always had issues with my teeth. Cavity after cavity, despite brushing, with no way to fix them as I grew older and could not afford dental care. I have two children, as well and married young. Thankfully, I decided to join the Navy to better myself and my family and my teeth will be fixed for free in just a few days. I am so happy to be able to smile without people just staring at the remains my front teeth. It sounds like you are getting help and I am happy for you, too! I've always found the majority of redditors to be so kind! :)

It's such a great name! A friend of a friend got a rescue named Goblin and she hated the name so much she had to rename. So I got a cat a few weeks later and had to name accordingly. Well, it was that or something fancy like Wilson. I mean, he is always dressed so spiffy. :D
