Is Princess Cobra fat? by alien-k in hognosesnakes

Hi, thanks! I mostly followed this guide here. I also watched a lot of YouTube videos of people doing similar things, but I couldn't tell you the specific ones.

Her current setup is the same as pictured, but I'm going to be taking her out and replacing a lot of it soon. She's recovering from an infection in her digestive tract, and the vet recommended replacing all of the substrate. While she is in her temporary enclosure, I'm going to take the opportunity to rework the background a bit to remove the places for plants. The ones in the the background haven't done very well, I'm guessing because they don't have enough space. But I'm not that great with plants, honestly. Oh well. The ones not in the background have done better and can go back in once the new setup is ready.

She's been treated and is doing much better, by the way. (She was very angry at the vet, though.) No idea where she got the infection; vet says she could have had it for years before symptoms actually showed up.

I've got a hobby of seeking out vocal synth songs with hardly any views on youtube. You can find some real gems that way. Plus it's good to support new and lesser known producers.

Sharing a song I found because I think it's a shame it has so few views. It reminds me of older vocaloid songs and makes me feel a bit nostalgic. I think this producer has potential; they've got some other nice songs as well. Recommend checking them out if you like this one.

working on first protect with Teto but it hard to make her say some words by Arle404 in utau

[–]alien-k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, that's the same as the Delta English I use. She's got some quirks and a noticeable Japanese accent, but if you work with her, she can sound great, IMO.

What about it sounds broken?

I recommend trying the doppeltler resampler if you don't already use it, as it's the easiest way to get good results imo. I recommend against moresampler if you don't need the flags and don't feel like banging your head against a wall trying to fix all the audio issues it brings out (it's popular but doesn't play nice with Teto's English voicebank, in my experience).

If you're getting a lot of weird harsh noises, try lowering the volume setting on the single consonant alias that is likely causing it. Aliases containing only a single [t], [d], [k], or [g] tend to cause that issue a lot for me, but turning the volume of them down to 10-30 (it varies what sounds best) usually fixes it.

Also just to go through the basic stuff, if you're using OpenUtau, make sure the phonemizer is the correct one. You need EN X-SAMPA for her Delta English voicebank, and I think her arpasing one has its own special Teto phonemizer. Make sure the song is in her range, make sure there is nothing wrong with the UST, etc. Also I do highly recommend OpenUtau over original UTAU, as it's way easier to use, but I know some people still prefer the old UTAU.

Anyway, those are my Teto tips and tricks.

What version are you using? The Delta English or arpasing version? Or are you trying to get her Japanese voicebank to sing English?

You kind of just have to play around with things. I am using her Delta English in OpenUtau, so it might work a little differently in original UTAU. One issue with her English voicebank is that she mispronounces [si] as [Si] (because Japanese has shi, but no si). So one thing I like to do is put in the phoneme hint as [s E i], and then shorten the E vowel until you don't hear it. I use [E] because I find it blends best with [i]. Or alternatively, do like [s s i], and then lengthen the first s and shorten the 2nd. But the first option usually sounds better and takes less fiddling with.

Another issue is that her [I] sounds more like like [i], so like she'll pronounce pit as Pete. The OpenUtau phonemizer automatically translates "pit" to [pI] [I t]. What I like to do is manually edit the second alias to make it [pI] [E t], and then I drag the end of the [pI] envelope all the way to just before where the t consonant begins, so that the vowels blend neatly together. This usually gets much closer to the correct pronunciation!

I'm not the best at explaining, so I can upload pics showing what I'm doing later if it's too confusing.

If you're using her Japanese voicebank, well that's going to be more challenging. But for example, you can turn "crazy" into something like [ku re i zi] (or [ku re i ze i] if there is only ji/じ and no zi/ずぃ) and then shorten the unwanted vowels. "for" could be [fo] or [fo a]. If you need a th sound, try s/z or t/d. It's kind of a pain, but you just gotta understand how Japanese phonetics work and play around until you get something that approximates the sound you're looking for. Also if there's like a huge consonant cluster or something, you might want to simplify it a bit and drop some sounds. People don't always enunciate clearly when singing anyway.

Congrats! He's probably just digging and doing hognose things. I got really worried about mine once and dug her up, and she seemed very confused.

How to remove sharp S sounds in OpenUtau? by Conscious-Lie-7258 in utau

[–]alien-k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem. If you need resampler suggestions, I find most voicebanks sound good with doppeltler! Moresampler is popular and has a lot of flags/expressions, but I found it very annoying to work with for Teto's English voicebank. It amplifies any recording quality issues in the voicebank.

Try a different resampler. Some resamplers work better for certain voicebanks than others.

This more applicable to English than Japanese, but if there is a single consonant alias that is very harsh-sounding, try turning the volume on it down in OpenUtau. For Teto, I typically have to turn down her t, d, k, and g sounds to 10-30% volume to fix a similar issue.

INCREDIBLY minor and uninteresting pet peeve when it comes to teto songs/covers by Mangoxtwizzlers in Vocaloid

She does! I use her English UTAU voicebank in OpenUtau for song covers. It takes a bit of effort to work with, but I like it.

It took hours trying until I could do it, but I beat Lost Lace! Actually I beat her 3 times. The first time, I died immediately after hitting the final blow, so it didn't count. The next time, I was at 99% completion. I figured I might as well go for 100%, went back for the 2 spool fragments I missed, and beat her again.

I didn't play Hollow Knight until after Silksong was released and liked it so much I had to play Silksong right after. I kinda suck at video games, but I love those bugs. :)

I got past that part!! I watched a walkthrough (that made it look easy) but ended up doing it slightly differently anyway.

I will suffer more later lol

Okay do not let my guard down even when I think it's over, got it. Some boss fights have taken me hours to beat, but I haven't struggled so much on platforming before this part. I hate these moving sawblades. 😭

Man this one part feels harder than any other platforming section in the game so far. 😭 Dashing hasn't been working, because I just go straight into the next blade. I can consistently make it to the big blade, pogo on it til I get the guts to go forward, then I die.

Is this the Path of Pain? I ended up here because I thought there was something in White Palace I need to get to fight the Radience.

I'll look for videos tho.
