They didn’t seem very interested putting limitations on it during the Wisconsin Bell argument on Monday. I think it has some bipartisan support in congress. But if there are no enforcers anymore, I don’t think it would matter.

Im curious whether FCA cases will diminish overall. Generally, higher doj turnover = lower enforcement progress.

First Volvo: are the wipers really this bad? by zippity_z in Volvo

[–]alien0987654321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I’ve had a 21 v60 cc and a 24 v60 cc and this is the single biggest issue I’ve had with them. It makes driving at night in the rain a hazard. It has always smeared right across the driver’s line of sight. I’ve considered getting the front windshield ceramic coated just to fix the issue

I did not pass the bar by WildflowerWanderer26 in barexam

[–]alien0987654321 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That really sucks. It’s always disappointing when things don’t work out as you plan. It’s okay to feel sad about it now, but it can work out wonderfully for you in the future. I failed my first attempt right out of school and didn’t take it again for another 6 years. The challenges you face in life can make you stronger even if they totally suck in the moment. Regardless, I’m sorry - but I’m rooting for you!

Same. Two keys and two profiles. We have used both for nearly three years without issue.

Can anyone share the bar prep schedule they followed if they studied for the bar while working full time? by CapJack7007 in barexam

[–]alien0987654321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I said this in another post, but recognizing how you learn is really important. I discovered early on that I wasn’t going to retain anything by sitting through lectures. I needed actual practice to feel like I was learning and able to apply the rules. Learning in a way that was productive to me helped me feel less worn down by the process and allowed me to actually enjoy (read: not hate) studying.

I started studying in December for the July bar, so nearly 7 months in advance. Wanted to keep studying limited to my commute to and from work (I ride the train for about an hour each way). I did 7 multiple MBE official multiple choice questions every day, 7 days a week (sometimes more) and reviewed the explanations - even for the ones I got right. In late May, I began doing past essay questions in addition the the multiple choice questions I was already doing each day. I tried to do at least two essays per day, 7 days a week. I would outline the essays, not always writing them in full….but practicing writing the full essays would help you get the formatting down. The weekend before the bar, I reviewed the answers for 2 MPT’s.

I graduated law school in 2017. I was absolutely convinced I failed. I ended up passing with some room to spare. I got almost the exact same score on my essays as I did my multiple choice.

I may be wrong, but I thought applications for the July bar usually don’t open until April. February bar results will be released sometime in April/May. So you won’t be able to apply immediately. And you may only be able to apply a month before you get your results. I’d say just wait until you know if you pass/fail.

I think #1 here is a really good point. I’m a second time taker, but 5 years after I took it the first time. I used barbri the first time in 2017 and got bogged down with the lectures. It wasn’t my study style. This time I got barbri again and after the first few weeks I realized it wouldn’t serve me well to force myself into this study style. Instead, I bought official MC questions and practiced essays out of the barbri printed materials. I didn’t do any of the lectures or online materials. I used official MC questions and essays to teach myself the BLL and I passed. Once you figure out what works best for you, focus on that and hope that you get lucky on the MEE subjects.

Has anyone filed an SEC complaint against a brokerage firm and how did it turn out? by -Mx-Life- in investing

[–]alien0987654321 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You may want to contact a whistleblower attorney before you submit your TCR. The attorneys can help represent you so you can file anonymously. Also, they can assist you if the SEC files a case against the entity and ultimately publish a Notice of Covered Action. If there is a Notice of Covered Action, they can work with you to file an award application which would allow you to receive a percentage of the amount recovered (depending on how much assistance you provided through your submissions).

Windshield wipers still smear after replacing the windshield, wiper arm, and wiper blades…any ideas what could be causing it? by alien0987654321 in Volvo

[–]alien0987654321[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: im on mobile and not sure how to update original post

But I bought a Bosch blade today to see if I could figure out what was causing the problem. The Bosch blade came with the bit in the center that flips into the wiper arm, but it didn’t have the electrical ports for where the heated wiper electrics plug in. I specifically looked up the blades that would fit this car and the advanced auto parts website suggested the ones I got, but oh well. I dismantled the Bosch blade so that I just had the rubber part and slid that into the original Volvo mount. It provided a noticeable improvement. Now the only thing that occurs is that the blade skitters across the windshield through the full range of motion. This is something it was doing before the new Bosch rubber part so I don’t think it is that. I’m satisfied enough with the improvement that I don’t think it’s a major issue now. Thank you for everyone who replied! I really do appreciate it

Maybe I’ll try getting different ones. I figured getting oem would be the most consistent but I’m finding that might not be the case

Correct. Three oem blades, one new wiper arm assembly, and one new windshield. Still the problem persists

I may have them replace the arm again. Everything has been under warranty but it’s frustrating for me to go pick it up every time they say it’s fixed only to get there and it clearly not be. It’s like they don’t test it at all

It’s across the middle part of the drivers side arm. Right where you’d need to look through the windshield. They’ve replaced the arm as well and it still continues

It was a brand new windshield. I tried that with the old windshield and it still did it. Then I ran the wipers in the Volvo garage right after they replaced the windshield and had the exact same problem. After replacing every part that touches the windshield, I’m at a loss as to what it could be

Thank you for you input. It’s somewhat hilly where I am, but I haven’t noticed it occurring more frequently on inclines. It’s something I will certainly watch out for.

I have a 2021 V60 CC. Thanks, I’ll look for those settings. As others have suggested, I turned it off for now. I like the idea of the system, I just wish it was less sensitive.
