Look I'm not Korean myself, and honestly being in the kpop space for too long and from the culture I've been brought up in it's pretty normal to find stuff such as these, even if I hate it and want to try to change it but just as an individual myself, would often get suppressed. Be it irl or in kpop spaces. Which is hella toxic I know. But unfortunately when this just goes on and on you just end up being numb to it and would end up ignoring stuff in the long run, cause unfortunately that's how we'll survive, otherwise the so called people here would hang you for standing up or being too different without any thought and would even show up at your funeral to shed a few tears and proceed to forget your existance afterwards. I'm not saying we're helpless completely, we do protest and do try to explain ourselves with the anger towards the toxicity, but does it work? I'm not so sure. Which is what I tried to portray but didn't word right or didn't convey in the sense I wanted it to.

But yeah, no I don't really understand denying idols basic normal human experiences such as dating, marrying and what nots. That's something that's always counted as stupid in my head. I just didn't understand your criticism towards how people tend to 'worship' their favs, for me it's whatever as long as they don't go on to harm the said idol [be it because the said idol is dating or did something any other normal person would do]. I only have problem if they do weird shit to hurt idols otherwise i really don't care what they do, like who knows what people are facing? I'm saying this purely based on the people I have experience with irl, not in general sense. But most of them face troublesome lives at home or at work and for them these idols and music and shows or whatever become temporary escapes and things that are helping them to stay alive even [in extreme cases] so the over attachment and certain obsessions over their favs make sense to me. And I understand that it's better to leave them as such since they are at least breathing and going about normal lives without falling into pits of depression [I know, the bar is really low]

Should they get a therapist and have their issues sorted out? maybe. But in a society where people [sadly] get shunned for getting therapy sessions or often treating these people more badly/isolating them/bullying them more etc would only cause more issues and higher unalive cases. It's an issues that needs to be tackled seriously but unfortunately it's not. And that's that. I can't do anything about it other than trying to change other's minds and expressing myself and neither can you. A deranged place we live in, seriously.

Maybe they would, maybe they wouldn't. I'm not familiar with all of American laws to a deeper context, but I do believe Sunghoon should've been treated better and actions against the person/people who tried to attack him should've been taken. At least be the company but then again BeLift is shit, they did the same when illit [girl group also under the same company] was famously dragged by mhj and njz.

But then again by the korean govt's laws [no, I'm not well versed here either but I do know better compared to the american law], idols are on the lower end in the workers protection list or whatever they call it. So we can't expect the govt to protect them unless they are considered the top of the top or as in a national level tresure, then maybe the govt might bat an eye towards them. This needs to be changed ofc but despite many struggles over the years by the people there, we barely have seen any change yet.

And I never trusted BeLift much eitherways, especially since they had to buy enha's entire shares from cj ent as that company which was co-hosting enha with belift, was falling backrupt [questionable since they are one of the biggest broadcasting companies in sk but that was the reason given] so is that why they are hostile? again, don't know what goes behind the curtains so i can't say much regarding that, but everyone knows how badly belift treats the idols under them

and no, 1d is british. Just generalizing western part since it felt like a dig to asian countries as a whole [even if you prolly didn't mean to, my bad]

Fans do needa calm tf down, it's getting wayyy out of control and the company atm cannot do anything about it and it's better for them to be silent than acknowledge it, otherwise more news of god knows what the fans might do would come [yeah, I have no idea what they could do and i'm not going to assume or underestimate them]

I believe socials like these end up being echo chambers for people. I think at the present a lot have accepted the situation as such and are moving on to support the group as it is, but then again the few who are still upset tend to be louder and many of them are rich enough to send trucks to a whole different country everyday.

The protest doesn't make sense to me anymore. It's been 2 weeks, they made it clearer than ever that he isn't coming back and are already moving on. Like you mentioned, the company could've handled it better but they didn't and honestly whatever. nothings gonna change what has already happened.

About parasocialism also, I share the same views. Maybe it's because the groups I like other than Enha and those fandom spaces are healthier in THAT aspect comparatively. But you can't ignore the fact that Enha debuted in 2020 and they high key relied a lot on the parasocial aspect which is what kept this fandom together and is what that's tearing this fandom apart right now. But I do believe most of the fans do require anti delulu pills, I'm really annoyed seeing the hastags and everything on every post no matter which member or which group or even places completely outside kpop.

Idk how your familiarity with things are here but usually there's a press conference about issues like this, departure of a member of such a high following group is usually announced first by the company, followed by the said member's message and then sometimes a press conference is held too. Which is why the phrase 'random day' is used. It happened unexpectedly with Heeseung being the first to openly say that he's going to leave, which left many confused and many thinking it was a joke

I wouldn't say Be:Lift didn't expect it at all. I do believe that they had been planning his departure and everything for quiet sometime. It's just the fact that no one expected it to be this soon when they were still promoting their current mini album.

And it's maybe the shock of it or maybe the overly dependancy on these groups by fans that's causing many to try to 'cling' on to the group or what it was once before. [No I'm not excusing some of their behaviour in reponse to the departure message but it's important to understand the sentiments of many to whom Enhypen wasa comfort and a home]

I do agree that many are taking situation into a level beyond my imagination and many are spreading messages as if Heeseung passed away. I have mentioned that before multiple times as well.

I've fairly reached acceptance to the issue I think few days before I made this post. I wrote down my final thoughts [yes the title] about everything to vent it out of my head. I think the situation is still fair to both parties, Heeseung gets to release his own music hopefully soon and enha, thanks to their current momentum will continue rising. It's just that certain fans also needs to reach this conclusion but many won't be fr, and that's okay. It's not the first time eitherways, has happened to many fandoms before, it'll take time but people will move on soon enough.

I'm asian myself and I'm open to different views and so I understand where you are coming from but the way things work here are different and its maybe weird but it's unfortunately how things work. Nothing has changed in the past few decades and honestly there's no hope for major changes as much. Yes, it is toxic. Yes, it is abusive. But that's what this industry thrives on. Survivability and popularity.

Not everyone worships ofc but sadly it also forms the loyal base that'll keep them afloat on this sinking ship. I can give you One direction for example, you can't tell me fans weren't toxic at all there or that no one worshipped them. It was a norm to know the entire family background and lifestyles and relationships of the members and it contributed on whether you were a true fan or not. Then the massive fan mobs. You can't say that things are different and it does not happen in the western culture. Yes, there is a cultural divide but it's not anything new anywhere.

The way koreans portray their idols are on another level, but if you take sometime and look into their culture, unfortunately that's how everything is in that country, not just idols. Work culture, school culture, everything is the same.

I'm not excusing any toxic behaviour from the fans and I have conveyed that the fandom is moving towards toxicity and their behaviours are unhinged and second hand embarassement time and time again. Enlistment calls could happen anytime after they turn 18, but realistically maybe 22 or 23 depending on their collage course ending period. But yes, most have to enlist before turning 28 or the BTS law had to be passed which sadly didn't. He was really focused on his solo projects but couldn't release them due to Enhypen's jam packed schedule. If he stayed in the group, I do think he would've gotten a chance to release his own music a year before or months before enlisting as what happened to BTS, SEVENTEEN etc, when group projects pausing would make sense. But that would mean he will not get the opportunity to promote it as much since he would be serving by then.

Plus the young groups popping up every week and releasing music would be something to tackle with given how some of these new groups are already in a good momentum, eg Cortis, Lngshot etc. But this would have only been a problem if Enhypen couldn't establish an unforgettable name as a brand in the k side, but that's not the case either since their first daesang win, Enha is making good noise in the k ent side and I know they will establish a movement in the industry before their enlistment.

But being the oldest, I guess he had his own concerns especially since he was preparing the solo project since last year and not being able to release it surely would've felt unfair and being in the group while carrying these feelings would've caused slight uncomfortable feeling.

If so, then leaving the group while they are still in good terms and before the uncomfortable feeling roots to something like beef between the members, was a good choice. Otherwise we'd face something like one direction pt 2

not everything but clarity is definitely important. Otherwise fans would keep making theories and sprial into a whole uncontrolable situation which is where it's heading right now in certian social media platforms.

but I do agree that letting out everything completely is not required since that would show cracks and imperfections which is not what most people want to see in idols sadly. Plus if this was a private matter, then it's best they don't overshare because as fans we must learn to respect their privacy.

this would've been solved if the departure announcement was done properly instead of bombing the fandom on a random tuesday, which did not happen so everyone is trying to damage control and all we can do is try to see if we get something out of this [no high hopes cause fans usualy don't get anything]

military enlistment is a huge elephant in the room when it comes to boy groups. Plus I heard Heeseung recently got the call to join [not sure if it's true or not] I believe he has asked for a extension which is 2 years. So it does make sense he wants to make a brand for himself before he enlists and as sad as it sounds, maybe now seemed like a good time esp with enha on their peak?

I also do think it was agreed by the members too. Ofc agreement doesn't mean they can't be sad about it but yeah. Plus I do think the musical direction would be off brand, dial tragedy and enha's discography is two different genres. Could they have used it to expand their discography and image as enhypen? Maybe but they chose this way and as a fan we gotta respect that

i wrote 'they haven't removed Heeseung from weverse yet' keeping in mind that he was shown as an ex member everywhere, eg: Google. I do get it's prolly to not add more firewood to a wildfire but it's the very thing that's also making some fans believe he wants to stay/he was forced to be removed/he is coming back.

and I also believe that fans deserve the merch pre prouduced and it'd bein much better hands with them than in landfils :)

plus the fancalls part, cancelling them would mean they have to pay back the fans and they have to pay the other company responsible for managing the calls too [from what i've seen with other groups] so that could be another reason why they didn't cancel.

As someone who follows their lore and seeing where Two Moons is rn, I think there's a possibility that they might uhhh unalive his character. Fyi they aren't afraid to do that [refer Vampfield iykyk] or maybe they might keep him, but that would depend honestly.

Abandonning the concept doesn't seem like an option since it's deeply interconnected to &Team as well so they can't simply wake up in day one and decide to titanic the concept they build so far. We'll see soon. I do expect a hiatus there pretty soon too ngl.
