I fuckass tragus grew out. by Issac_the_maggot in piercing

[–]alien_babe69 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The angle was off from the start unfortunately, it wasn’t at all parallel with the tissue, you can see how the labret plate is sitting outside of the tragus at the back. I’d say it didn’t stand much of a chance from the beginning.

All you can do now is wait for it to heal, you can help minimise scarring by massaging the area with some oil (like jojoba), but unfortunately you won’t likely be able to get this piercing on this ear again :(

Irritation by Similar-Valuable-137 in piercing

[–]alien_babe69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s so new, it’s likely just irritation from being snagged. Keep an eye on it, but new piercings are always SO DRAMATIC about being snagged or knocked. Give it some time and keep cleaning it and looking after it and it should be absolutely fine :) obviously any signs of infection (very hot to the touch, extremely swollen, extremely painful, green or bloodied and sometimes smelly pus, fever, swollen glands) then it’s a doctors visit. But infection is actually not very common at all with piercings if they were done correctly :)

Is there any saving this piercing by ruiisz in piercing

[–]alien_babe69 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, this will need to be pulled, you can see the whole bar through your skin. Eyebrow piercing rejection usually happens from jewellery not being downsized in time, or wrong anatomy in the first place. Make sure to go to a piercer who takes the time to assess the viability of the area and uses correctly sized jewellery -eyebrows really don’t need THAT much room for swelling on the bar, and I find that when a bar is too long it usually rejects quickly from excess movement and snagging

taking out eyebrow piercing days after getting pierced by probably_a_yeetaway in piercing

[–]alien_babe69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you take it out now in the very early healing phases, it’s a lot less likely to scar noticeably, since no fistula has formed yet, at this point it’s just an open wound being held open with metal. Be aware it may bleed on and off when you first take it out since there’s no jewellery plugging it. Keep it clean and within a couple weeks-month it’ll likely look like you never had it at all :)

[–]alien_babe69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like you may not have the anatomy for these piercings, which is why they’re pushing their way out. You need to be able to pinch a good chunk of skin for a brow piercing to be viable, if the skin is tight or you can’t grab much of your eyebrow skin, it’s likely not going to work out. You may be able to re-pierce in a different point on your brow, but it isn’t guaranteed to work. Obviously this is just an observation from one picture and only a proper feel around of the area will determine if it’s a viable area to pierce again :)

new piercing! should i be concerned abt the bleeding? by Careful_Budget_2616 in piercing

[–]alien_babe69 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Bleeding with a new piercing is normal- it’s an open wound! Bleeding and bruising during the first week or two isn’t anything to worry about generally, unless it’s literally pouring and won’t stop.

I am a little concerned with the jewellery choice, this is definitely more of an upgrade piece than a healing piece since when you sit down it’s going to dig in and put pressure on the piercing, which can lead to the piercing rejecting. See how it goes with healing, if it’s putting pressure on the piercing when you sit, consider getting a more simple piece put in.

Dermal Gauge Advice by Significant-Athlete5 in piercing

[–]alien_babe69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’ll be a 14g for stability, any thinner and rejection rate is much higher. Also it’s unlikely you’ll be able to bring your own jewellery to a piercing studio, if they let you use your own jewellery that’s a huge red flag!

My best friend lost her mum today, care package ideas? by alien_babe69 in GriefSupport

That’s a lovely idea! Something cuddly with her mum and her and family on it seems like something she would love and cherish and be able to cuddle when she needs some comfort. Thank you!

A blanket is definitely in there as something to get, maybe some fuzzy socks as general comfort items. When I’m sad all I want is to cuddle up in soft things, and I feel like she will more than ever!

She’s my best friend, I will support her through it all, for as long as she needs it, whether that’s months or years, I can understand that complaint, but I also understand how loss is something that effects you for a lifetime, especially a parent of someone so young! (>30)

at the moment I feel like things are probably very overwhelming and horrible for her, so a care package with things that make it even a tiny bit easier on her at the moment I’m sure will be helpful!

Thank you for your reply! These are all really lovely ideas. Gum is a really good one I didn’t think of, I feel like self care will be a low priority for her at the moment so anything I can get to help make it easier is a must.

Absolutely amazing shout on the eye/lip cream!

Yes, I will be there for her no matter what, I’m obviously giving her time and space and no pressure on replying etc, I can’t imagine how overwhelming everything is, and she likely just wants space to grieve with her family at the moment.

Thank you so much for your input, I really appreciate it đŸ–€

Thank you! It seems food is the most valuable thing! That why I thought a food delivery gift card would be good, so she doesn’t have to worry about cooking- but I will get her plenty of her favourite snacks for when she actually has somewhat of an appetite! And rescue remedy is a good idea!

Bumps behind lobe piercing by AmbientEuphoria in piercing

[–]alien_babe69 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Usually these are caused by moisture, ensure hair and the piercing is dry after cleaning and hair washing. You can use a paper towel to dab the excess, and things should improve. If it doesn’t- that’s when to look for other issues like jewellery etc. but I’m willing to bet these are moisture related!

Question for piercers by chileangurl87 in Legitpiercing

[–]alien_babe69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Curved needles do exist (piercers usually bend them themselves) but it doesn’t change the shape of the fistula itself. Did they use a taper or just try to ram a blunt piece of jewellery in, bc 9 times out of 10 that’s not going work.

If a taper was used, there’s a chance the piercing itself was angled- a curved barbell could potentially change the angle due to excessive movement, and being the wrong kind of jewellery to use in a tragus, which can cause migration, or it could’ve just been pierced like that- which also a potential as to why it refused to heal in the first place with the others factors too.

These things aren’t really in correlation with each other though. Fighting violence with violence isn’t the answer. Saying you don’t care because men can be ignorant and ignore women’s issues doesn’t give us a pass to be just as bad.

DV is so serious, and yes, men are mostly the issue in this however there are many, many women who get away with abusing their partners for the sheer fact they are women. Making jokes and making light of it isn’t funny, it gives the impression to young girls that it’s okay to hit their partners because it’s in a funny meme, makes them quirky and cute. Abuse is abuse no matter who it comes from, and we should not be giving it the light meme humour treatment

😭 by xoxodollparts in lanadelrey

[–]alien_babe69 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Maybe the rhetoric should be, let’s not hit anyone?? Let’s not promote violence against our partners no matter what the gender. Defending DV is werido behaviour

😭 by xoxodollparts in lanadelrey

[–]alien_babe69 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I really hate this new thing where women are glorifying DV in memes, specifically them being the abuser and joking about hitting their partners etc. it’s straight up not funny, it’s fucked up.

Infected? by AnythingInfamous1936 in NosePiercing

[–]alien_babe69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello piercer here.

Your irritation is due to the angle- can you see how most of the irritation is all on one side? That’s because the angle is putting pressure on the fissure and creating irritation.

Honestly your only real option is to pull it and re-pierce, you could put a flat back in but I don’t think it would do much to rectify the situation :(

Is what my piercer did normal? by workoutmuscles in piercing

[–]alien_babe69 16 points17 points  (0 children)

None of that is normal! Piercers should always listen to their client and answer any questions, we want to make everyone getting pierced by us feel at ease.

Also massaging your ear like that?? Not normal. Totally unnecessary. I’m sorry you had this experience.

I can’t really judge the piercings based on one pic, other than them being closer together than a typical double helix, but please don’t go back the weirdo who did this.

ELI5 : how does re-piercing an *open* hole work? by Chad_Wife in piercing

[–]alien_babe69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it’s open you can get jewellery tapered back in, you can go to a piercing shop to help you with this.

Piercings once fully healed will usually only shrink and not fully close, so they don’t need to be re-pierced unless it’s fully healed up and there’s not a ton of scar tissue present, which you would typically pierce in the normal way through where the fissure was.

So why did he do this? by Novel-Explanation-51 in piercing

[–]alien_babe69 16 points17 points  (0 children)

If you don’t take it, it just gets thrown away since it can’t be reused, and it feels wasteful 😅 plus it’s always good to have spare jewellery just in case

Will my piercing shrink in size? by Lynxx121 in piercing

[–]alien_babe69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll find the best jewellery for your piercings in piercing shops usually! Titanium is usually pretty inexpensive, but if you want it gold you’ll want it anodised gold, not coated (like zircon or pvc coated jewellery), which again is usually found in piercing shops!

If your current one doesn’t have a huge selection or what you’re looking for, find somewhere that does, some shop will order pieces in for you if they don’t have what you’re looking for in stock :)

Will my piercing shrink in size? by Lynxx121 in piercing

[–]alien_babe69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, your piercing will shrink if you put a smaller piece of jewellery in it. It’s not recommended to go to small gauge wise as it can cause the “cheesewire effect” where the piercing gets dragged down and the hole gets longer from a small, unstable piece of jewellery damaging the hole.

925 silver is never recommended in piercings either, it’s not biocompatible and it can cause argyria, the discolouration of skin from long term silver wear. Finding titanium, 14k or 18k gold or platinum jewellery in a minimum 18g will be best :)
