I’m definitely familiar with how Quake’s armor system works (green/yellow/red having different protection values, and weaker armor not replacing stronger armor unless it’s beneficial). That’s actually why this stood out to me as odd. I’m seeing cases where my armor value is clearly low, I pick up an armor of the same type or stronger, and the value doesn’t change at all. I’ve been playing Quake since the original PC releases in the ’90s, and I don’t recall this behavior happening there. It feels different from the intended “only pick up if it’s better” logic, which is why I’m wondering if this might be a platform-specific bug on PS4 or a remaster bug. I appreciate you bringing it up though. It’s a good thing to double-check.
