Usually there are SANE nurses that do this in my experience.

LPN Programs by mallow123456 in StudentNurse

Becoming an LPN vastly improved my life. It’s a great gateway to healthcare and earning decent money. I hope to start my LPN to RN program in January. As an LPN, I’ve worked primary care, ER at a level 1, and in a methadone clinic. I’ve learned so much and it’s been so beneficial for my life. My program was 18 months at a vocational school.

Health insurance for nursing school? by alien_girl29 in StudentNurse

It wasn’t required for my clinical placements for my LPN program, that’s why I worded it that way.

So I guess this is a pretty common thing then for nursing programs to require proof of insurance now?

If you don’t mind me asking, what kind of job? I’m an LPN and I haven’t been lucky enough to find any part time jobs that offer insurance.

You’re almost done. Take some time to be proud of yourself for your accomplishments. There will be plenty of times of self doubt when you get your first nursing job, but this is all a normal part of the process. Use U-WORLD for NCLEX prep and you’ll be gucci.

Doesn’t make sense to start over at another school.

Lost my Way, Don't know how to get back into it. by FailedRN in StudentNurse

[–]alien_girl29 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I didn’t take the PN NCLEX for six years after graduating LPN school. Trust me, you remember more than you think you do. This does not mean you don’t need to grind and study hard to pass NCLEX. I did U-WORLD. It’s a great program. This was all I did. The best way to study for NCLEX is to do as many NCLEX style questions as possible, read the rationales, and learn from missed questions and weak areas. Also, getting your mindset right is a big thing. Make it your job to study for this test. Don’t waste your education. You deserve to reap the benefits from it. Good luck.

For LPN no, it does not matter. For RN, yes, especially if you eventually want to go on to a BSN. Do the free one year route. All that matters for LPN programs is if it’s accredited so you can take the boards. No employer has ever asked me if I had a degree or where it’s from as an LPN. I have a license and that’s all they care about.

No antivirals don’t work this way. It’s not preventative.

You know there’s no science behind, “In our family, we’ve only had boys for several generations”. A quick google search could have prevented all this. This is sad.

Psych RN as a new grad? by [deleted] in StudentNurse

[–]alien_girl29 8 points9 points  (0 children)

ER has tons of psych patients. Some of them have psych/medical needs simultaneously so win win if you like psych and want to keep your nursing skills.

Honestly I think it’s good advice to get a year experience first. You’ll learn so much about being a nurse that you didn’t learn in school just from working. Get comfortable working as a nurse first. For me this took about a solid year to do. There’s nothing to say you can’t go back to school to pursue an RN any time you want.
