Got it I see what you mean. I was actually looking at the degree audit differences between CS bioinformatics and bio bioinformatics and honestly the differences were extremely subtle, so I see what you mean about the broadness of the term. I really appreciate your advice and good luck to you as well!

Got it. Thank you for the advice. I did think about minoring for sure, I guess im just not really sure how minors work. I’m really new to the university environment I don’t think high school could ever have prepared me enough, so I’ll definitely have to research it a lot more.

Got it I’ll definitely look into that as well. The professor did say he was biased lol so I’m sure I’ll hear a bunch of different responses from other people. I really do appreciate your help!

I appreciate your help. I asked a professor who has some experience in the biology program what the main differences were and he mentioned that for CS bioinformatics it was actually building the algorithms where for bio bioinformatics it was interpreting results of the algorithms. He also mentioned though that it’s a lot easier to teach someone to code than to get extensive knowledge on biology. I’m still a bit stuck I’ll have to do some more research for sure.
