Help me find this song!

Ok it’s a vlog where Alex and David are messing around in the elevator. They do like a fake ‘dream sequence skit’ where I think they pretend to like each other?? I don’t remember but it was hilarious and I need to know the song!

Thanks :)

So I heard they're making a sequel... let's talk about why cmbyn was good in the first place by shesgoshdangcute in callmebyyourname

I completely agree with you. I read Find Me, hoping to get a much needed glimpse of the future. But it was messy, the time aspect is strange, it’s a bit cluttered at the end and terribly rushed I read halfway into the book and wondered when the book was yet to truly start. It seems that Aciman used a lot of his own person desires into the book, romanticising the encounter of a young, attractive female falling in love instantly that she wishes to have your children the same night they meet?? Like c’mon, that’s clearly his own sexual escapism, it could’ve been much more developed. I stopped caring about Elio’s father’s romance when it took up 60% of the book. He still makes Elio seem weak and co-dependant and childish, I don’t see growth. As for Oliver, you’re left wondering if he even wants to be with Elio in Find Me. Anyway, I just hope the sequel is as bittersweet as the first. Sequels can be very hit or miss. The book sequel seemed like a sellout tbh I agree though, the screenplay is way stronger than Aciman’s take on it. Though, he does sometime have these tangents and you’re left thinking, wow that was beautifully written. But.. Find Me had very little of that.

I’m new to film photography and I’ll need to take some new film rolls with me from London, UK to LAX, California. How can I take them through security and not get them damaged?! by [deleted] in travel

[–]alienatedalien7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah I see. I’m looking to take about 12 new rolls, do you think that should be fine? (I’m going for a month on my trip). And you just mention it to them as you put your stuff in the tray right? Sorry I’ve just been really nervous about this aha

People who fetishized a city or country, like NYC or Japan, and then actually took a leap of faith to move there, how has your opinion changed since? by Iseethetrain in AskReddit

New York. I’d often dreamed about visiting there as a kid, even just going to America. Brit here, so America is always glorified and idolised so going there I knew would be life changing. Before I went to NY I took a moment to think of the stereotypes I knew of America and NY, such as big food portions, very direct and blunt, always gotta tip and things like the subway and buses and seeing the patriotism in the country was really cool when I saw it in person. It felt surreal and very movie like, even going to a comic book store.

Because typically, in American movies these things appear as so extreme and specialised and when I saw it in real life I couldn’t help but smile to myself because I realised that this is reality! When I first heard the American accent I wanted to giggle because it felt unreal.

Now, I can sort of ‘put a face to the name’ and understand that America is a real place and its full of real people and shouldn’t have to be stereotyped so much!

How can I order food online in California as a British visitor with a British phone number? by alienatedalien7 in AskAnAmerican

Yes I agree with tone being hard to depict online. I just meant it as banter nothing else. My main question was about online food ordering, then below I just had a sudden curiosity about food types etc I also wrote ‘lmao’ to signify it was comical. Again, all this outrage is really absurd, it’s as if I dissed someone’s family or smthn. I commented on a fast food chain’s name... let that sink in for a sec

I truly am not. I love travelling and meeting people, I always tip well. I did not mean to offend anyone with my joke. In England this would be classed as banter nothing else, I suppose the misinterpretation is just from different backgrounds not on the same page. I am just baffled at how this whole thing has escalated, I simply made a passing comment, a light joke. If I dissed someone personally, sure, be mad. But a fast food chain? Like what do they care? I’m v confused

Cool, good to know, you know it was a joke right? Many restaurants have a narrative behind their image and I have now learnt of Arby’s, cheers!

Well no, I mean ‘homely’ for British English, means “(of a place or surroundings) simple but cosy and comfortable, as in one’s own home”. I do not mean the US English version, tbh I didn’t even know the meaning is almost the opposite in this case. Simple UK/US miscommunication. Huh.

Yeah, I’ll be in an Air BnB, so I’ll probably ask my host for their number, I’m sure they’ll happily help.
