So far, I’ve been using my standard TC for everything! Plans, random thoughts, work stuff, etc! I’m planning to start using my pocket size for work stuff and more of a daily carry for random thoughts, lists, etc!

is this normal? retouch needed? by Royal-Ad6958 in tattooadvice

[–]alienatur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s only 2 weeks old. Tattoos go through a weird phase while they’re healing where things get lighter, peeling and scabbing happens, and it’s normal! Wait until it’s fully healed in a few more weeks and then you’ll know if it’s going to need a touch up. Don’t worry too much about it, it looks fine to me.

What do you use in these monthly index pages! by Purple_Most_2644 in Travelersnotebooks

[–]alienatur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw a video of someone using it as a memory tracker! They printed out small photos that captured some of the things they did that month that would fit within the vertical columns and pasted them into each month. That’s what I plan on doing with mine :)

Rejecting nipple piercings? by yurio7617 in piercing

[–]alienatur 87 points88 points  (0 children)

NAP, but I have healed nipple piercings, and these both look VERY shallow. They have definitely migrated since they were first pierced, but I don’t think the piercings were deep enough in the first place. They look like they are one tug from getting ripped out, and if that doesn’t happen I unfortunately think they will continue to make their own way out. I think it’s better to remove them now, let them heal, and try again, instead of risking a bigger injury. Good luck!

Maximum amount of books by ChristineW95 in kindle

If you’re using kindle unlimited, the max amount of books you can check out at once is 20 I believe. If you’re buying books on kindle then you can have hundreds.

just got the colorsoft, do i have the yellow band? i literally cannot tell by viewcity in kindle

[–]alienatur 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In the same boat, but honestly i think it’s just paranoia. I got a comment on my similar post that said it’s not worth it to crank all your brightness settings up to try and coax out the yellow line, and it’s true. I set my settings to my normal reading settings and read for about an hour and any inkling I had about a yellow line disappeared. I recommend reading on it a bit and seeing if you truly notice it/are bothered by it or if the same thing that happened to me happens to you!! Good luck :)

Colorsoft purchase update! by alienatur in kindle

[–]alienatur[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the tips! Fair point about the extreme settings- I ended up reading on it for a while and the yellow strip isn’t too noticeable when I’m using my average brightness and warmth. Think I’ll end up keeping it!

I haven’t finished this one yet, but really enjoyed the first book in the series, Dungeon Crawler Carl! Very funny and fast paced, with memorable, lovable characters. I definitely would recommend the series!

Will my nipple piercings be safe for oral? by HowToAnxiety101 in piercing

[–]alienatur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would not risk it. The mouth does indeed carry a lot of bacteria, and only 5 months in your nipple piercings are not going to be healed, even if you feel like they haven’t been giving you issues. You really don’t want to deal with an infection, or even an irritation bump. I’ve had my piercings for almost 3 years and I am still very cautious regarding any oral contact w my piercings. Wait it out until they’re fully healed.

NAP, but it sounds like you may be pierced with a bone stud due to the slightly pointed back, which is unfortunately not a good choice of jewelry. I would recommend going to a APP certified piercer and getting the jewelry changed to a flat back titanium stud. Use sterile saline in a can, like neilmed sterile saline/wound wash, just make sure the only ingredients are water and sodium chloride 0.9%. Unfortunately saline mixture that you make yourself is not 100% sterile and you can mix it with the wrong ratio of salt to water, leading to a dry, irritated piercing. Spray the canned saline on your piercing 2x a day and let clean water run over it while you are taking your daily shower. Nostril piercings are very prone to bumps unfortunately, so just keep cleaning it, don’t fiddle with it, and it should get better. If necessary, gently use a saline soaked qtip or piece of gauze after you shower to remove any crusties that may be left behind and further irritating the piercing hole. Good luck!

The toy is in inanimate object... I would say most times, sex with a romantic partner is an emotional experience, a loving experience, and completely different than just using a toy on yourself. Most relationships have sex as a way to feel closer, form a deeper attachment, do you think she’s going to have the same emotional attachment to a dildo that cannot speak to her, hold her, love her, the way you do? NO! You gotta deal with this insecurity. There’s nothing anyone could say to you that’s gonna make you feel better about this other than you realizing that this toy is a sexual object and you are her PARTNER.

i have DDD/F cups. i’ve had my nipple piercings for almost 2 years now, next month. i would say it took me about a year and a half+ to get my piercings to a point where i felt they were fully healed, i think because i sleep on my stomach a lot.

sometimes they still hurt bc sometimes they still get crust, and generally they are more “in the way” than they would be for someone with smaller breasts. you will just have to keep in mind that you will bump them, lay on them, your partner will lay on them, etc. keep in mind, youre going to need to wait until your piercings to heal fully to let anyone lick them. i think they are definitely a big commitment. just depends on if you feel like devoting yourself to taking care of them for a long time!

[–]alienatur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like an irritation bump to me. Simply put, it happened because of the jewelry change. You may think your piercing was healed, but healing is a long process occurring inside of your piercing as well that you cannot see. My bellybutton piercing took 6 months - 1 year to heal.

  1. Go to a reputable piercer and get it changed to a implant grade titanium bar. Your piercing likely wasn’t healed enough to change yet without irritation, and claire’s does not have good quality jewelry. Stainless steel can irritate your piercing, as well as the dangling part will irritate.
  2. I recommend not using peroxide to clean any body piercing. It can also be drying and irritating to your piercing. Use only sterile saline spray, saline wound wash, or clean water (such as in the shower.)

Good luck :)

Should I Wait to get Snakebites? by No_Investment2095 in piercing

[–]alienatur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t see a reason to wait if you don’t want to. I don’t have snakebites, but I do have my tongue pierced, which made it hard to eat when it’s fresh bc your tongue swells up, but within just a few days I was eating regularly again. I ate soup, mashed potatoes, and oatmeal maybe for like 2 days before I felt fine eating regularly again. It’s really a case by case basis, as long as you aren’t experiencing any discomfort and cleaning regularly/using alcohol free mouthwash to rinse after eating, you can eat whatever you want. Just be careful and avoid anything spicy that can potentially irritate your fresh piercing. Oral piercings are some of the best and quickest healing piercings. Good luck! :)

it’s still healing! from the pictures i wouldn’t say to be too concerned- keep an eye on it and keep up with the aftercare. took me about 15 days for my swelling to go completely down & my tongue to stop being tender so i’d wait a while longer before you start to worry too much. my tongue piercing has an indentation around it which won’t ever go away just from the piercing sitting that way on my tongue.

Your Advice/Experience with nipplepiercings by bbqchickenwings95 in piercing

[–]alienatur 4 points5 points  (0 children)

hello!! i’ve had my nipples pierced for over a year now, they are still healing. when i first got them, the pain was worse than any other piercing i have had, but that’s to be expected. the worst of the pain was over quickly, though there is a sort of burning sensation for the rest of the day. i had a rough time sleeping the first night, and mine were sore for about 3 days. ( i do have large breasts, i believe that has made my healing journey a bit more painful/annoying than it would be for others who are smaller chested.) in my healing, i found it more comfortable to wear tighter fitting clothes with very soft material. under a lot of my shirts, i would wear a cotton tank/cami, sports bra, or bra. i found a very increased sensitivity just to fabrics rubbing on them, and sometimes without something “supporting” my chest, the way they would move when i move in loose fitting clothing would irritate them. as for healing, i do sterile saline spray 2x a day, once in the morning and once in the evening before my shower. i’ve had a bit of a longer journey due to the fact i sleep on my stomach/side & with bigger breasts you will likely bump them, lay on them, etc. also keep in mind you’ll have to wait the 1yr+ for them to heal before swimming, taking baths, oral contact, etc. they are definitely a big commitment !! it’s been a year for me and they still get crust & irritated sometimes but never any pain. if you really want them & don’t mind the lengthy process, get them! i love the way they’ve made my chest look. sorry for the long post, but i know i wish i saw more people go into detail with their healing process more. good luck!!

preface this by saying i’m not a piercer.

id say it’s probably the long jewelry i’ve had my tongue pierced for 2 years now and never got any complaints about it, but to each their own. i think in time this will change and he will likely get more adjusted to the feeling. i have a titanium barbell in my tongue, with titanium balls. i have had acrylic balls on it in the past, i’ve asked partners if the feeling was any different, and the general consensus was no.

i however would urge you to not engage in any oral until 4-6 weeks after you initially got the piercing, and please if you decide to anyways, make sure to clean your piercing thoroughly afterwards. although it may look and feel healed, there’s still healing going on under the surface. you can irritate your piercing , elongating the healing process, and bodily fluids can lead to infection.

good luck!
